The TP-Link TL-PA4010P KIT is a twin-pack passthrough powerline starter kit that carries your network over existing mains wiring while keeping the wall socket free to use. Each HomePlug AV2 adapter has one 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, an integrated power socket with a built-in mains filter, and Pair button 128-bit AES encryption, with up to 300 metres range over the electrical circuit.

What the TL-PA4010P KIT is for

Use it to get a wired connection to a smart TV, games console, PC or IP camera in a room the Wi-Fi does not reach well, without running new cable. Because each adapter has its own socket on the front, you can still plug in the TV, a lamp or an extension lead behind it.

What you will need

A router with a spare LAN port and two wall sockets on the same electrical installation. Plug the adapters straight into the wall, then plug any extension lead into the adapter's own socket rather than the other way round.

How fast is the TP-Link TL-PA4010P KIT?

The powerline side is Powerline 600 class, but each adapter's Ethernet port is 10/100 Mbps, so a wired device connects at up to 100 Mbps. Actual speed depends on your wiring and electrical noise.

Does the TL-PA4010P have a pass-through socket?

Yes. Each adapter has an integrated UK socket with a mains filter, so you keep the outlet for another appliance.

Can I pair it with other TP-Link powerline adapters?

Yes. It is HomePlug AV2, so you can add other TP-Link HomePlug AV2 adapters, such as the TL-PA4010 KIT, using the Pair button. TP-Link advise deploying the adapters on the same circuit in sets of two or more.

Can I plug it into an extension lead?

For best results plug it directly into a wall socket. Surge protectors and extension leads can filter out the powerline signal.

Is the connection secure?

Yes. Pressing Pair on each adapter sets up 128-bit AES encryption, so other adapters on the supply cannot join without pairing.

How quickly can I get it?
