TL-WA850RE — TP-Link 300Mbps Wi-Fi Range Extender
The TP-Link TL-WA850RE is a 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi range extender that plugs into a UK wall socket and repeats your router's signal into weak spots. It has two internal antennas, a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, a five-bar signal strength light and WPS one-button setup, and uses about 3 W.
What the TL-WA850RE is for
It is a low-cost way to stretch Wi-Fi into a back bedroom, conservatory or loft for browsing, email and smart home devices, most of which use 2.4 GHz. The signal light shows when you have found a good spot between router and dead zone.
The Ethernet port lets a wired-only device join the Wi-Fi. If you want 5 GHz as well, choose the dual-band RE200; browse more in data networking.

What Wi-Fi standard does the TL-WA850RE support?
802.11n on 2.4 GHz at up to 300 Mbps. It does not extend 5 GHz networks; for that choose the RE200.
Does the TL-WA850RE support OneMesh?
TP-Link do not list OneMesh for this model. It works as a standard repeater with any router.
How do I set it up?
Press WPS on your router, then on the extender, or use the web interface. The signal lights show the strength from the router.
Can it act as an access point?
Yes. Connect it to your router by Ethernet in Access Point mode to create Wi-Fi from a wired connection.
TL-WA850RE or TL-WA855RE?
Both are 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz. The TL-WA855RE is smaller with two external antennas; the TL-WA850RE has internal antennas and a five-bar signal light.
