VoIP Phone Systems in Wolverhampton

In short: a VoIP phone system has two parts, the service that handles your calls and the phones that connect to it. Zenith Security Co. supplies the phones and phone hardware from Unit 3, Park View Centre, 243 Dudley Road, Wolverhampton. We do not provide the call service itself, and we do not install systems.

What a VoIP phone system is made of

  1. The phone system or service. This handles calls. It can be hosted by a provider, run on equipment at your site, or be Microsoft Teams. You normally get this from a VoIP provider or your IT supplier, not from us.
  2. The network. Calls travel over your network, so it needs to be reliable. A PoE switch can also power the phones. See Data Networking.
  3. The phones. Desk phones, cordless handsets or Teams phones, which register with the system. This is the part we supply.

Checking the phones suit your system

Whichever system you use, the phone has to be supported by it. Look up the supported-phone list for your provider or system, then tell us the make and model. We will confirm the phone suits it before you order. Our VoIP phone buying guide explains SIP, PoE and single-cell versus multicell DECT in plain terms, and our VoIP phones in Wolverhampton page covers how to buy locally.

Supplier, not installer

We supply equipment; we do not install it or set up phone systems. We go through the products with you before you buy and, depending on your requirements and area, can recommend a qualified trade installer.

Frequently asked questions

What is a VoIP phone system?

A VoIP phone system makes and receives business calls over a network connection instead of analogue lines. It has two parts: the phone system or service that handles the calls, and the phones that connect to it. The service can be hosted by a provider, run on equipment at your site, or be Microsoft Teams.

Do you sell VoIP phone systems?

We supply the hardware: IP desk phones, IP DECT base stations and handsets, Wi-Fi phones, Microsoft Teams phones and accessories. We do not provide the hosted phone service or phone system software itself, and we do not install systems.

What equipment does a VoIP phone system need?

A phone system or service to register with, a network that can carry the calls, a phone for each user, and a way to power each phone. That is either a PoE switch or a separate power supply. Cordless DECT handsets also need a base station.

What is an IP DECT system?

An IP DECT system uses one or more base stations connected to your network, with cordless handsets that work as VoIP phones around the site. A single-cell system covers one area. A multicell system uses several base stations for a larger building.

Will your phones work with my phone system?

If your phone system or service supports the phone, yes. Check its list of supported phones, then tell us the make and model and we will confirm the phone suits it before you order.

Do you install VoIP phone systems in Wolverhampton?

No. We are a supplier, not an installer. We go through the equipment with you before you buy and, depending on your requirements and area, can recommend a qualified trade installer.
