What the W80B is for

Yealink designed the W80 system for organisations that need wireless coverage beyond what one DECT base station can give. Yealink states the system supports up to 30 base stations, up to 100 handsets and up to 100 simultaneous calls, with seamless handover and roaming. The W80B is the DECT base station for a cordless VoIP phone system, a SIP-based setup for use with a VoIP phone system, with up to 100 VoIP accounts.

Yealink describes the W80 system as one DECT Manager (W80DM) with W80B base stations, and a SIP account or PBX for the VoIP accounts. Handsets are bought separately; Yealink's datasheet lists compatible Yealink DECT handsets (W56H, W53H, W57R, W59R, W73H, W78H, CP930W, CP935W and DD Phone) and states they must run minimum firmware versions. Yealink DECT is not compatible with third-party DECT devices. Check the product page or call us to confirm the combination you plan.

Does the W80B work on its own?

Which handsets can I register?

Yealink's W80 datasheet lists these Yealink DECT devices as compatible: W56H, W53H, W57R, W59R, W73H, W78H, CP930W, CP935W and DD Phone, each subject to a minimum firmware version, and says Yealink DECT is not compatible with third-party DECT devices. Call us to confirm your handset.

Can the W80B be powered over Ethernet?

Yes. Yealink lists Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af, Class 1) or an external 5V/1.2A Yealink power adapter, which the datasheet shows as optional in the box.
