W80DM - DECT Manager for the Yealink W80 IP Multi-Cell DECT System
The Yealink W80DM is the DECT Manager unit of the W80 DECT IP multi-cell system. It is the management point for a group of W80B base stations: Yealink says the system networks one W80DM with up to 30 W80B base stations, so a site can be covered by several DECT cells and not just one base. Handsets can roam and hand over between cells. It is a network device for your DECT and wireless IP phone installation, not a handset.
What the W80DM is for
A single base station only covers the area around it. In a warehouse, a school, a hotel or a multi-floor office, you need several base stations that work together. The W80DM provides the central role in that set-up: Yealink states that it lets you configure and manage the whole multi-cell system from the DECT Manager web portal. The W80DM is shipped as the DECT Manager and the W80B is shipped as a base station, so you choose the right unit for each role. At least one DECT Manager is needed per installation, and the W80B base stations and handsets are bought separately.

What you will need
The W80DM manages W80B base stations and compatible handsets, which are sold separately. Yealink's product page lists the W53H, W56H, CP930W and the DD Phone (T41S+DD10K) as supported devices, and the Yealink datasheet also lists the W57R, W59R, W73H, W78H and CP935W, each with a minimum firmware version. Check the datasheet firmware notes, or call us, before ordering handsets. You also need a SIP server or phone system for the accounts, and a network with a PoE (IEEE 802.3af) switch, or the optional Yealink power adapter. Yealink states its DECT products are not compatible with third-party DECT devices such as base stations and handsets.
