Ajax Superior MotionProtect Plus Jeweller - Dual-Technology Motion Detector

Superior MotionProtect Plus Jeweller is an indoor motion detector with two kinds of sensor in one housing: a PIR sensor that responds to body heat moving across its view, and a K-band microwave sensor that responds to movement by the radio signal it bounces around the room. It covers up to 12 m across 88.5°, ignores pets up to 20 kg, and reports to the hub over the encrypted, two-way Jeweller radio at up to 1,200 m in open space. As the Superior (professional range) version it has a holding screw for its SmartBracket, an IK04 impact rating, and INCERT and NF&A2P 2 Boucliers listings on top of Security Grade 2. Choose black or white above.

Common questions

Why choose a PIR and microwave detector?

The two sensors work on different principles, heat and reflected radio signals, which gives the detector two views of the same movement. Dual-technology detectors are often chosen for rooms where a PIR alone may be affected by heat sources.

How is it different from MotionProtect Plus Jeweller?

This is the Superior (professional range) version. Ajax lists a holding screw for the SmartBracket, an IK04 impact rating and INCERT and NF&A2P 2 Boucliers listings for it. Both are Security Grade 2 with a 12 m range.

Will a dog or cat set it off?

Ajax rates it to ignore animals up to 20 kg and up to 50 cm tall when it is fitted at the recommended 2.4 m and set up correctly.

How long does the battery last?

Ajax calculates up to 5 years on the supplied CR123A cell.

Can it be fitted outside?

No. Ajax rates it for indoor use only (IP50, IK04, -10 °C to +40 °C, humidity up to 75%).
