Hikvision DS-KAD7060EY-S — cascade distributor for 2-wire HD systems

The DS-KAD7060EY-S is not a device distributor: it is the unit that joins several DS-KAD7060EY distributors into one system. According to the datasheet its CH1–CH6 ports are for cascading DS-KAD7060EY units and its IN/OUT ports are for cascading further DS-KAD7060EY-S units. If your building needs more than the six channels a single DS-KAD7060EY provides, this is the part that scales it.

Hikvision's current 2-wire range comes in two families that use different buses: the 2-wire IP (Y) series and the 2-wire HD (EY) series. Distributors, door stations and indoor stations are designed to be used within their own family. Where it sits in the system

Think of a block with one riser per core. Each riser gets its own DS-KAD7060EY feeding the flats on that riser. The DS-KAD7060EY-S then sits at the top, with each riser's distributor plugged into one of its six channel ports, so the door station at the entrance can reach every flat. For very large sites, its IN and OUT ports chain more -S units together.

Same enclosure, lighter load

It shares the DIN-rail footprint of the DS-KAD7060EY (143.7 × 92.4 × 65.9 mm) and the same 48 VDC supply, but because it is aggregating rather than powering stations its own consumption is under 10 W. Eight signal indicators show which downstream distributors are live. There is no network interface on this unit.
