Hikvision DS-KH8380-WTE1 — 7" Wi-Fi indoor station with four relays and H.265

The DS-KH8380-WTE1 is the indoor station most of our IP intercom systems are built around today. It is the 7" Wi-Fi model in the current Pro generation, which means H.265 video from the door station, PoE 802.3at as well as 12 VDC, and more I/O than earlier 7" units: four relays, eight alarm inputs and a 12 VDC output for a small accessory. It is the indoor station supplied in the DS-KIS613-S kit, and a die-cast aluminium version is available.

This is part of Hikvision's IP video intercom range: door stations, indoor stations and accessories that connect over a standard network (PoE or 12 VDC) and are configured with the iVMS-4200 client or the Hik-Connect app. IP-series products are designed to be used together within that range. Video, audio and storage

The 7" 1024 × 600 screen decodes H.265 and H.264, so the station pairs efficiently with the current 2 MP and 4 MP door stations. Audio codecs run from G.711 to Opus and AAC at 16/32/64 Kbps with noise suppression and echo cancellation. Message capacity is 200 captured pictures and 200 alarm records with a microSD card (up to 128 GB); without a card, pictures are held in 2 MB of RAM and 200 alarm records are still kept. Up to 16 network cameras can be viewed and 16 indoor extensions linked.

Four relays and eight inputs

Four relays rated 30 VDC 1 A can drive locks, a gate or lighting scenes; eight alarm inputs take door contacts and sensors; there is an RS-485 port and a 12 VDC 0.5 A output for a small accessory. TCP/IP, SIP and RTSP are supported.

Mounting and power

The plastic case measures 178.4 × 126.4 × 21.8 mm and can be flush-mounted, surface-mounted or placed on a table bracket. Power is PoE 802.3at or 12 VDC 1.5 A, consumption ≤ 12 W, operating range -10 °C to 50 °C. Embedded Linux with 32 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the DS-KH8380-WTE1 and the DS-KH8381-WTE1?

The case and panel: the 8381 is die-cast aluminium with an IPS screen and a physical button; the 8380 is plastic with a TFT screen. Video, Wi-Fi, PoE, relays, inputs and capacities are the same on both datasheets.

Does it support PoE?
