Texecom SmartCom Pro is the company's latest alarm communicator. It links an intruder alarm to Texecom Cloud, the Texecom Connect app and Texecom Monitor for ARC signalling, comes as three communicator models including 4G and Dual Radio versions, and gives third-party panels with PIN integration a route to Texecom Monitor. Zenith does not currently list SmartCom Pro, but we stock the original SmartCom and can check availability for you.
A communicator is the part of an intruder alarm that sends signals off site, whether that is an update to the owner's app or an alarm report to an alarm receiving centre (ARC). SmartCom Pro is Texecom's newest communicator, built to bring more installations onto the company's digital services.
The launch follows a round of upgrades to Texecom Cloud, which Texecom says has made the platform faster, more stable and easier for installers to use. Chief executive David Mountfield said the business had invested heavily in its digital infrastructure over the last 18 months, and described Texecom's vision for a connected future as "installer-first and end-user focused".
Texecom announced four product codes. The table sums up what the launch announcement says about each one.
| Product | Code | What Texecom says |
|---|---|---|
| SmartCom Pro | CEN-0001 | The core communicator in the range |
| SmartCom Pro 4G | CEP-0001 | 4G model; no further detail in the announcement |
| SmartCom Pro DR | CEQ-0001 | Dual Radio model using two independent mobile networks; marked as coming soon at launch |
| SmartCom Pro Case | JAQ-0007 | Case listed with the range; no further detail given |
According to Texecom, every model signals alarms over its secure private APN. The announcement does not give security grades, certifications or detailed radio specifications, so check the full datasheet before you specify SmartCom Pro on a graded or insurer-led installation.
Texecom Cloud gives installers remote access for programming, fault diagnosis and checking the health of a system. That means many routine changes and checks can be handled without attending site.
For installation, Texecom lists plug-and-play commissioning, setup by scanning a QR code and the option of a Wi-Fi access point. The stated aim is to reduce the time installers spend on site.
On a Premier Elite system, SmartCom Pro opens up Texecom's full set of digital services: remote management, app control through Texecom Connect and professional ARC monitoring via Texecom Monitor.
The Dual Radio version is aimed at sites where staying connected matters most. Rather than relying on a single network, it uses two independent mobile networks.
Zenith already stocks the original Texecom SmartCom Ethernet and Wi-Fi communicator (CEL-0001). Here is how the two compare, based on Texecom's announcement and our own product page.

Yes. Texecom says SmartCom Pro is fully compatible with Premier Elite panels, giving access to remote management, app control and professional monitoring. Check the current Texecom datasheet for any panel firmware requirement before you install.
According to Texecom, a third-party panel that supports PIN integration can use SmartCom Pro to connect to Texecom Monitor for professional ARC monitoring, so the existing system does not need replacing. The announcement does not name specific panel models, so confirm support before quoting a job.
Texecom lists SmartCom Pro 4G under code CEP-0001 but gives no further detail in the launch announcement. SmartCom Pro DR (CEQ-0001) is the Dual Radio model, which uses two independent mobile networks for extra resilience. Texecom marked it as coming soon when the range launched.
SmartCom Pro is not currently listed on our website. Contact our team for availability and pricing. We do stock the original Texecom SmartCom Ethernet and Wi-Fi communicator and a wide range of Premier Elite panels and kits.
