Texecom switched off the original Texecom Connect app (V1) on 24 March 2025, so anyone still relying on it needs to move to Connect V2. Texecom has also refreshed the Texecom Connect app with a new look, an area menu and a single SOS button. Here is how to upgrade, what changed and the hardware you need.
For five years Texecom supported two versions of its Connect app side by side. Its switch-off notice confirmed that support for V1 would end and that the service would be turned off on 24 March 2025. Users already on Connect V2 did not need to do anything.
Texecom's upgrade guide, linked from the switch-off page, warned V1 users that they risked losing notifications and control of their alarm if they did not move across.
Texecom suggests speaking to your installer first, as some installations need configuration changes before they can support V2. Most customers, it adds, can do the upgrade themselves:
Texecom's technical support team can help if you get stuck.
The guide warns that a system installed before 2020 might stop receiving notifications once Texecom disables the old server, and it describes an engineer-level change on the Premier Elite panel to prevent this. If an alarm receiving centre (ARC) monitors your system, or an installer maintains it, Texecom says your installer must make that change.
Texecom has also released a redesigned Connect app, which it says brings a fresher interface and improved performance. It is also where Texecom's Guardian guard response service now sits.
| Screen | What is different |
|---|---|
| Home | New colours and layout, areas chosen from a menu in the top-left corner instead of by swiping, a recent events section, and a screen colour that reflects system status (red when armed, for example) |
| SOS | One SOS button now opens the Panic, Fire, Medical and Reset options |
| Calendar | Pick a date to view the event log, plus an updated timeline view |
| User menu | Simpler layout with the same functions as before |
| Other screens | Icons and colours updated in line with the new home screen; functions unchanged |
The area menu replaces swiping because users told Texecom that scrolling between areas was slow and frustrating, especially on sites with more than two or three areas. Texecom has also said it will make the SOS button text clearer in a later release.
Because Texecom changed the app's code base, a few things need setting up again:
If devices do not show their status or temperature, force close the app and reopen it; there is no need to log out. That is also the first thing to try if Arm or Part Arm does not respond. If arming still fails, the app may have fallen out of step with the panel, especially if it has not been used for a while, so go to Menu > Sync panel.
Neither Texecom announcement lists panel models or firmware versions, and the upgrade guide refers to Premier Elite alarm systems.
The Texecom SmartCom Ethernet and Wi-Fi communicator (CEL-0001) links a Premier Elite panel to the internet using Ethernet or 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and gives Texecom Connect app access via Texecom Cloud. Because it makes outbound connections, you do not need to open ports on your router. It works with Premier Elite panels on V4.00 firmware or later, so check your panel's firmware before ordering. Choosing a new panel? The Texecom Premier Elite 64-W LIVE control panel (GEX-0001) supports Texecom Connect when paired with a SmartCom or SmartCom 4G communicator. You can compare other options in our alarm panels range or start from a complete intruder alarm kit. For a SmartCom 4G communicator, please contact us for availability.

No. Texecom switched off the V1 service on 24 March 2025, so you need Texecom Connect V2. Texecom's upgrade guide explains how to move across, or your installer can help.
Not if you already use Connect V2. Log in with your existing username and password, or reset it with the forgotten password option. You will then need to switch biometric login back on.
A Premier Elite panel connects to the app through a communicator such as the Texecom SmartCom, which works with panels on V4.00 firmware or later. Check your panel's firmware first, or ask your installer.
Force close the app and reopen it without logging out. If Arm or Part Arm still does not respond, go to Menu > Sync panel to bring the app back in step with your alarm panel.
