The RG-EW1200R is a dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) extender from Ruijie Reyee. It has two external antennas, a three-bar signal indicator to help you place it, and is set up in the Reyee Router App.

What the RG-EW1200R is for

The RG-EW1200R is for extending an existing home Wi-Fi network into rooms where the signal is weak. Ruijie say its built-in signal amplifiers help it penetrate more walls, and the three-bar signal indicator shows signal strength so you can choose a better spot for it.

It has four wireless modes: WPS, WISP, repeater and AP, with a single button for WPS, Mesh and reset. When the primary router is from the Reyee Mesh Wi-Fi series, it can join that Reyee Mesh network.

Speeds are rated at up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. Ruijie recommend 8 concurrent clients on 2.4 GHz and 16 on 5 GHz, so treat it as an extender for a household's devices.

An existing Wi-Fi router to extend. To use Reyee Mesh, the primary router must be from the Reyee Mesh Wi-Fi series. Setup is done in the Reyee Router App. Ruijie list the extender, a user manual and a warranty card as the box contents. See other Wi-Fi extenders.

Ruijie rate it at up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. These are maximum radio rates, and real speeds depend on the position and the router it connects to.

Does the RG-EW1200R work with Reyee Mesh?

Yes, the specification lists Reyee Mesh 3.0, and Ruijie say it meshes when the primary router is from the Reyee Mesh Wi-Fi series. For another router, tell us the model and we will check.
