The TP-Link Omada EAP650-Desktop is an AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 desktop access point for business Wi-Fi. It delivers 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz, has four 1 Gbps Ethernet ports plus one FXS phone port, and is powered by 802.3af/at/bt PoE or the included 12 V/1.5 A DC adapter. TP-Link rate it for desktop or wall mounting, a range of 140 m² (1500 ft²) and 250+ concurrent clients.
What the EAP650-Desktop is for
The EAP650-Desktop is a Wi-Fi 6 tp link access point that sits on a desk, shelf or wall rather than the ceiling, giving each hotel room, dorm or small office strong Wi-Fi and wired ports.
The FXS port and PoE out are useful where a phone or IP device needs to sit next to the AP on a single cable run.

What you will need
A PoE source or mains socket, and a network cable to the position. A 12 V/1.5 A power adapter is included. For central management, add an Omada controller (hardware, software or Omada Central cloud).

Does the EAP650-Desktop support PoE, and which TP-Link PoE switch powers it?
Yes. It accepts 802.3af, 802.3at or 802.3bt PoE, and one Ethernet port gives PoE out: 802.3at/af output with an 802.3bt input, or 802.3af class 2 output with an 802.3at input. An 802.3at PoE+ switch such as the Omada SG2210MP (8 PoE+ ports) or SG2428P (24 PoE+ ports) powers the AP; full PoE out needs an 802.3bt source.
Does the EAP650-Desktop need an Omada controller?
It can be set up on its own through its web interface or the Omada app, and it is managed centrally by any Omada controller: TP-Link list Omada Central (cloud-based), the Omada hardware controllers such as the OC200 and OC300, and the free Omada Software Controller. TP-Link note that cloud access requires an Omada controller.
What Wi-Fi standard is the EAP650-Desktop?
It is Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), AX3000 class, with TP-Link quoting 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz.
How many devices and how much area does the EAP650-Desktop cover?
TP-Link quote 250+ concurrent clients and a range of 140 m² (1500 ft²). These are TP-Link test figures; walls and interference reduce real coverage.
Can the EAP650-Desktop be used outdoors?
No. It is an indoor unit rated for an operating temperature of 0–40 °C. For outdoor Wi-Fi see the Omada outdoor models in our access points range.
EAP650-Desktop or EAP650-Wall?
Both are AX3000 Wi-Fi 6. The EAP650-Wall fits a wall box with one downlink port; the Desktop version has four gigabit ports, PoE out, an FXS port and a DC adapter.
How quickly can I get it?
We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter — call first so we can confirm your order is ready. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
