The TP-Link Omada MC210CS is a gigabit media converter from 10/100/1000M RJ45 to 1000BASE-LX single-mode fibre (SC), up to 20 km. It converts a copper RJ45 Ethernet link to 1310 nm single-mode fibre, so you can carry gigabit Ethernet far beyond the 100 m limit of copper cable.
What the MC210CS is for
Fibre media converters like the MC210CS are used in pairs, or with a fibre port on a network switch, to link buildings, gatehouses, car-park CCTV poles or plant rooms where a copper run is too long or exposed to interference.
TP-Link supply it as a standalone unit with an external power adapter, and it can also be mounted in the MC1400 14-slot chassis when you have several links in one cabinet.

What you will need
You need single-mode fibre with SC/UPC connectors between the two ends, a matching converter or switch port at the far end, an RJ45 patch lead to your switch or device, and a mains socket for the power adapter.

How far can the MC210CS transmit?
TP-Link quote up to 20 km.
Does the MC210CS need a matching unit at the other end?
Yes. Use another MC210CS at the far end, or a switch with a 1000BASE-LX single-mode fibre port such as an SFP slot fitted with the SM311LS. Both ends must be single-mode at 1310 nm.
Can the MC210CS go in a rack chassis?
Yes. The MC210CS is chassis mountable, and the MC1400 14-slot rackmount chassis is the TP-Link chassis for its 9VDC media converters.
What is the difference between the MC210CS and MC200CM?
The MC210CS is for single-mode fibre up to 20 km. The MC200CM is for multi-mode fibre up to 550 m.
How quickly can I get it?
We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily.
