What you will need

• A 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network with a good signal where the camera will go (or a network cable to it).
• The free Tapo app on an iOS or Android phone.
• A microSD card for local recording (fitted in the camera, up to 512 GB; not in the box), or an optional Tapo Care cloud subscription.
• A mains socket within reach of the supplied power adapter.

No. It records to a microSD card in the camera (up to 512 GB, card not included) without a subscription. Tapo Care cloud storage is optional and needs a subscription.
