TP-LINK - TL-PA717 KIT - AV1000 Gigabit Powerline Starter Kit, UK Plug

TL-PA717 KIT — TP-Link AV1000 Gigabit Powerline Starter Kit

The TP-Link TL-PA717 KIT is an AV1000 gigabit powerline starter kit: two compact TL-PA717 HomePlug AV2 adapters that carry data at up to 1000 Mbps over your existing electrical wiring, each with one Gigabit Ethernet port, a Pair/Reset button and 128-bit AES encryption.

What the TL-PA717 KIT is for

Use it to get a wired connection to a smart TV, games console, desktop PC or CCTV recorder in a room where Wi-Fi struggles, with no drilling or new cable. One adapter goes next to the router, the other where you need the connection, up to 300 metres away over the circuit.

The compact body sits in front of a single socket without blocking the one next to it. If you would rather keep the outlet usable, see the TL-PA7017P KIT with pass-through, or browse data networking.

Key features

• AV1000 HomePlug AV2, up to 1000 Mbps powerline rate
• One Gigabit Ethernet port per adapter
• Compact plug-in design
• Plug and play, no configuration required
• Pair button for 128-bit AES encryption
• Power-saving mode reduces consumption by up to 85% (TP-Link figure)

A router with a spare LAN port, two wall sockets on the same electrical installation and a second network cable for the far-end device if it does not have one.

Buying from Zenith Security Co.

We are a supplier, not an installer. We will go through the TL-PA717 KIT with you before you buy, including whether powerline suits your building and what speed to expect, and depending on your requirements and your area we can point you towards a qualified trade installer. We have been trading since 2012 and hold stock at our Wolverhampton trade counter.

How fast is the TP-Link TL-PA717 KIT?

The powerline rate is up to 1000 Mbps. That is a physical rate; real throughput is lower and depends on your wiring and electrical noise. The gigabit port means the adapter does not cap a wired device at 100 Mbps.

Does the TL-PA717 have a pass-through socket?

No. It is the compact version and occupies the wall socket. Choose the TL-PA7017P KIT if you need pass-through.

Can I pair it with other TP-Link powerline adapters?

Yes. It supports HomePlug AV2 and HomePlug AV, so it pairs with kits such as the TL-PA7017 KIT or a TL-WPA4220 Wi-Fi extender.

Can I plug it into an extension lead?

Plug directly into the wall for the best speed. Extension leads and surge protectors can weaken the powerline signal.

Is the connection secure?

Yes. Press Pair on each adapter to create a private network with 128-bit AES encryption.

How quickly can I get it?

Stocked items are despatched for delivery within 1-2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.

Can I see one before buying?

Yes. Our trade counter is at Unit 3, Park View Centre, 243 Dudley Road, Wolverhampton WV2 3JU.
