Cordless VoIP phones you can carry around the site.
DECT phones are cordless phones using the DECT standard (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications). Handsets connect by radio to a base station, which connects to your network and your phone system or VoIP service. DECT uses its own radio band, so it doesn't depend on your Wi-Fi. Wireless IP phones also include Wi-Fi phones, which join your Wi-Fi directly and need no base station.
How do I choose a cordless system?
- DECT or Wi-Fi: a Wi-Fi phone relies on your Wi-Fi coverage and settings.
- Site size: a single base station suits a small site. A multi-cell system with several base stations suits a larger building, with DECT repeaters to extend coverage.
- Capacity: how many handsets and SIP accounts the base station supports.
- Handsets: handset type, including rugged handsets, and battery talk time.
- Compatibility: whether it works with your phone system or VoIP service.
For a corded phone see IP desk phones, or browse all VoIP phones.
