Dahua DH-XVR5104HS-4KL-X — 4 Channel 4K Penta-brid CCTV DVR
The Dahua DH-XVR5104HS-4KL-X is a 4 channel 4K Penta-brid CCTV DVR, or digital video recorder (Dahua calls this type of recorder an XVR), in a compact 1U case, from Dahua's Lite series. As a CCTV recorder, it auto-detects HDCVI, AHD, TVI and CVBS analogue cameras and also takes IP cameras up to 8MP, so an older analogue system can be upgraded camera by camera. It records H.265+, has one SATA port for up to 10TB, and outputs up to 4K (3840 × 2160) on HDMI.

- HDCVI long-distance transmission over coaxial cable and UTP: up to 700m for 4K/4MP, 800m for 1080P and 1200m for 720P (Dahua figures).
- Audio over coax: 1 audio input and 1 audio output (RCA), with two-way talk reusing the audio in/out.
- Built-in Intelligent Video System (IVS) with tripwire and abandoned or missing object detection, plus face detection and Smart Search.
- Smart fan design: the fan turns on or off according to CPU temperature.

Common questions
What does Penta-brid mean?
It means the recorder accepts five signal types: HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP. See Dahua Penta-brid recorders explained and Dahua HDCVI cameras explained.
Does it record in 4K?
Yes. The main stream records 4K at 1~7fps, 6MP at 1~10fps, 5MP at 1~12fps and 4MP/3MP at 1~15fps, and the HDMI output goes up to 3840 × 2160.
Will it work with my existing analogue cameras?
HDCVI, AHD, TVI and CVBS (PAL/NTSC) cameras are auto-detected on the 4 analogue channels. HDCVI goes up to 4K, and AHD and TVI up to 5MP.
Can I add IP cameras?
Yes. The IP camera input is 4+2 channels, each up to 8MP, with up to 24Mbps incoming bandwidth.
How much hard drive storage does it take?
It has 1 SATA port, with up to 10TB capacity. There is no eSATA port.
Does it have alarm inputs?
No. Dahua's datasheet lists no alarm input and no relay output for this model.
