Hikvision DS-K2708X — 8-door access controller cabinet

The DS-K2708X is the ready-built answer for an eight-door site. Hikvision's datasheet states that the cabinet contains one DS-K2704X(P) four-door controller board and two DS-K2M002X two-door access modules, wired and powered from a single 100–240 VAC input with battery charging — so you get eight doors, sixteen alarm inputs and sixteen OSDP reader ports without assembling the parts yourself. The same K27 firmware provides web-browser configuration, anti-passback, interlocking and first-person-in, and the four-door DS-K2704X cabinet covers smaller sites.

Hikvision's K27 access controllers come two ways: the cabinet version (100–240 VAC mains input, battery charging, wall-mounted steel enclosure) and the (P) board version — the same controller PCB on a guide rail, powered from 12 VDC, for fitting inside your own enclosure or a larger Hikvision cabinet. The DS-K2708X 8-door cabinet, for example, contains a DS-K2704X(P) and two DS-K2M002X modules. Readers connect over RS-485 (OSDP) or Wiegand; doors can be extended with DS-K2M002X access modules. Configuration is by web browser, iVMS-4200 or HikCentral.

Inside the cabinet

Eight lock relays, eight exit-button inputs and eight door-contact inputs — four on the controller and four across the two modules — with 16 alarm inputs and 8 alarm outputs split the same way. Fifteen RS-485 ports in total: on the controller, two for readers and five for access modules (four for communication, one for redundancy); on the modules, four for readers and four for the controller link. Eight Wiegand inputs (four on the controller, two per module). One fire interface, a tamper switch and USB 2.0.

Capacity and readers

100,000 users, 10,000 fingerprints, 200,000 cards and 600,000 events. Reader capacity is 16 RS-485 (OSDP) readers — eight on the controller and four per module — and 8 Wiegand readers. Linked-door capacity is eight: four on the controller and four on the modules.

Power, indicators and installation

100–240 VAC input with battery charge and discharge; consumption ≤ 200 W. The controller shows 12 indicators (power, running, network, five RS-485, four door) and each module six. Gigabit RJ45; Linux; wall-mounted cabinet; -10 °C to 55 °C, 0–90% humidity.
