The DS-KD-K12 is how a KD8 panel scales. The main unit has one call button; every DS-KD-K12 adds twelve more, each with a nametag window, and modules chain over RS-485 so a three-module frame gives a main unit plus 24 flats. Buttons are assigned to indoor stations in iVMS-4200. A stainless-steel-finish version is listed separately.

Hikvision's KD8 modular door station is built from a main unit (camera, microphone, speaker and one call button) plus sub-modules that clip into a common frame: nametag buttons, card reader, keypad, display, indicator and induction loop. Modules connect to the main unit over RS-485 and take their 12 VDC from it, so a panel for a block of flats is specified module by module. Tell us the flat count and the entrance and we will draw up the frame, modules and rain shield.

This is part of Hikvision's IP video intercom range: door stations, indoor stations and accessories that connect over a standard network (PoE or 12 VDC) and are configured with the iVMS-4200 client or the Hik-Connect app. IP-series products are designed to be used together within that range. Building the panel

Count the flats, subtract the one button on the main unit, and divide by twelve to get the module count; then choose a frame and rain shield to suit. Modules take 12 VDC and RS-485 from the main unit through the supplied cables, so there is no wiring beyond the frame. Each button is mapped to a flat's indoor station (or Hik-Connect account) during commissioning.

Outdoor rated

IP65 sealing with a -30 °C to 55 °C operating range and 10% to 90% humidity. The module measures 98.2 × 100.2 × 33.7 mm and mounts flush or on the surface within the KD8 frame. Consumption is ≤ 2 W.

Frequently asked questions

How many flats can a DS-KD-K12 serve?

Does each button need wiring?

No — the module connects to the main unit over RS-485 and 12 VDC through the module cable; buttons are assigned in software.

What is the /S version?
