Hikvision DS-KIS704EY/Aluminum — 2-wire HD video intercom kit

The DS-KIS704EY/Aluminum puts a complete 2-wire HD (EY series) door entry system in one box. Hikvision's kit datasheet describes three components — a 2 MP aluminium-finish door station, a 7-inch Wi-Fi indoor station and a 4-channel 48 VDC distributor — whose specifications match our separately listed DS-KD7003EY-IME2/Aluminum and DS-KH7300EY-WTE2. The distributor in the kit is a 4-channel unit; it is not listed separately.

Hikvision's current 2-wire range comes in two families that use different buses: the 2-wire IP (Y) series and the 2-wire HD (EY) series. Distributors, door stations and indoor stations are designed to be used within their own family. Why a 2-wire kit

Most houses with an old intercom already have a two-core cable from the door to the hall. This kit reuses it. The distributor sits near the consumer unit on its DIN rail, one pair runs to the door station and one to the indoor station, and both are powered and connected over those pairs. No Cat5, no PoE switch, no separate power supply at the door.

At the door

The door station has a 2 MP camera covering 133° horizontally and 82° vertically, WDR against backlighting and IR for night. It offers two lock outputs — a relay (max 30 VDC 2 A) and a DC pulse output — plus an exit button input, a door contact input, two alarm inputs and a tamper switch. Two RS-485 ports take Hikvision sub-modules if more buttons or a keypad are wanted later. IP65 and IK08, -40 °C to 60 °C, surface mounted, 99.5 × 98.5 × 35 mm, in an aluminium finish.

Indoors

A 7-inch 1024 × 600 capacitive touch screen answers the door with live video and two-way audio and releases the lock from the screen. Its 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi joins the home network so calls can be forwarded to the Hik-Connect app. A microSD slot keeps up to 200 call snapshots; one alarm input takes a door contact. Only 20 mm deep, surface mounted.

Room to grow

The kit's door station supports up to 99 indoor stations and 16 sub door stations, and the indoor station up to 3 linked extensions — so a second handset upstairs or a second door is an add-on, not a new system. The 4-channel distributor is rated at 30 W total across CH1–CH4.

What you'll need with it

• A regulated 48 VDC supply for the distributor (not named on the datasheet — ask us to spec one)
• An electric strike or maglock for the door station's relay or DC pulse output
• Two-core cable from the distributor to the door and to the indoor station (existing intercom wiring is usually fine)
• A microSD card for snapshots; 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi coverage at the indoor station for app forwarding

Add a DS-KAD7061EY splitter and further DS-KH7300EY-TE2 or DS-KH7300EY-WTE2 stations for more rooms; move up to a DS-KAD7060EY for a multi-flat block.
