The TP-Link Deco X50 (2-pack) is a 2-pack AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 whole home mesh Wi-Fi system. Each unit delivers 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz (HE160) and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, and has three gigabit WAN/LAN auto-sensing ports. It is set up and managed in the TP-Link Deco app.

What the Deco X50 is for

It suits homes and home offices with lots of devices: video calls, 4K streaming and gaming running at once. Three gigabit ports per unit let you wire a TV, console or PC at the far end.

What you will need

A broadband modem or ISP router with an Ethernet port, a smartphone for the Deco app, and a power socket for each unit. VLAN tagging is supported for ISPs that require it.

Can I add it to an existing Deco X50 system?

Yes. TP-Link state that all Decos work together, so extra units join the same mesh.

Can I replace my ISP router with the Deco X50?

Often yes: it supports PPPoE and VLAN tagging used by many UK fibre providers. Otherwise use Access Point mode behind the ISP router.

Can the units be wired together?

Yes, Ethernet backhaul via the gigabit ports is supported where you can run cable between units.

Can I add an outdoor unit?

Yes. The Deco X50-Outdoor joins the same mesh for gardens and outbuildings.

How quickly can I get it?
