The TP-Link DeltaStream DS-P7001-08 is an 8-port GPON optical line terminal (OLT) in a 1U case. It has eight 2.5G PON ports, two 10 Gbps SFP+ uplinks, a gigabit RJ45 uplink, console and management ports, and supports up to 1:128 split per PON port over 20 km of single-mode fibre. It takes two power supplies (AC, DC or one of each) for redundancy.

What the DS-P7001-08 is for

It is the head end of a passive fibre network for hotels, student accommodation, flats, campuses and offices: one OLT in the comms room feeds ONUs and GPON wall plate access points such as the EAP615GP-Wall and EAP625GP-Wall through passive splitters, so no powered switches are needed in the riser. TP-Link offer free central management through the DeltaStream PON Management System (DPMS).

Uplink it to a core switch over 10G SFP+, for example an Omada SX3008F, and fit a GPON module such as the DS-PMA-C+ in each PON port you use. See our data networking range.

1U of rack space, single-mode fibre with SC/UPC connectors, passive splitters, a GPON SFP module for each PON port in use (such as the DS-PMA-C+), the ONUs or GPON access points at the far end, and a core switch for the uplink.

How many users can the DS-P7001-08 serve?

It has eight PON ports and TP-Link quote a maximum split of 1:128 per port; the product page states up to 1,024 ONUs. The real number depends on your splitter design and bandwidth per user.

Does the DS-P7001-08 come with GPON modules?

TP-Link list the OLT, power cord, console cable, installation guide and mounting brackets in the box. Check with us which PON optics you need, such as the DS-PMA-C+ Class C+ module.

Can the DS-P7001-08 be managed from Omada?

TP-Link list free central management through the DeltaStream PON Management System (DPMS). The OC300 Omada controller lists support for certain DeltaStream OLTs; ask us to check this model before relying on it.

What uplinks does it have?

Two 10 Gbps SFP+ uplink ports and one gigabit RJ45 uplink port.

How quickly can I get it?

We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter — call first so we can confirm your order is ready. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
