Buying from Zenith Security Co.
We are a supplier, not an installer. We will go through the EAP610-Outdoor with you before you buy — how many access points your site actually needs, whether your switch has the PoE budget, and which Omada controller suits you — and depending on your requirements and your area we can recommend a qualified trade installer. We have been operating since 2012 and you can visit our trade counter in Wolverhampton.
Does the EAP610-Outdoor support PoE, and which TP-Link PoE switch powers it?
Yes. TP-Link specify 802.3at PoE+ input and a maximum draw of 13.2 W (EU), so power it from an 802.3at PoE+ switch such as the Omada SG2210MP (8 PoE+ ports) or SG2428P (24 PoE+ ports). A 48 V passive PoE adapter is also included.
Does the EAP610-Outdoor need an Omada controller?
It can be set up on its own through its web interface or the Omada app, and it is managed centrally by any Omada controller: TP-Link list Omada Central (cloud-based), the Omada hardware controllers such as the OC200 and OC300, and the free Omada Software Controller. TP-Link note that cloud access requires an Omada controller.
What Wi-Fi standard is the EAP610-Outdoor?
It is Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), AX1800 class, dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with 802.11ax rates up to 1201 Mbps per TP-Link's signal-rate table.
How many devices does the EAP610-Outdoor support?
TP-Link quote 250+ concurrent clients. Real coverage depends on mounting height, obstructions and interference.
Can the EAP610-Outdoor be used outdoors?
Yes. The EAP610-Outdoor has an IP68 weatherproof enclosure and is rated for -30 to 70 °C, so it can be pole or wall mounted outside.
EAP610-Outdoor or EAP603-Outdoor?
Both are AX1800. The EAP603-Outdoor is quoted for longer range (up to 300 m on 5 GHz per TP-Link); the EAP610-Outdoor is slimmer and IP68.
