What you will need
A PoE+ source, outdoor-rated network cable and a pole or wall position. No PoE adapter is listed in the box, so use a PoE+ switch or PoE injector. For central management, add an Omada controller (hardware, software or Omada Central cloud).

Does the EAP725-Outdoor support PoE, and which TP-Link PoE switch powers it?
Yes. TP-Link specify 802.3at PoE+ input and a maximum draw of 18.4 W, so power it from an 802.3at PoE+ switch such as the Omada SG2210MP (8 PoE+ ports) or SG2428P (24 PoE+ ports).
Does the EAP725-Outdoor need an Omada controller?
It can be set up on its own through its web interface or the Omada app, and it is managed centrally by any Omada controller: TP-Link list Omada Central (cloud-based), the Omada hardware controllers such as the OC200 and OC300, and the free Omada Software Controller. TP-Link note that cloud access requires an Omada controller.

When would I use the directional antennas?
TP-Link fit internal directional antennas (13.2 dBi, 45° on 5 GHz) alongside external omni antennas, selectable in software. Use directional to push coverage down a field, car park or long yard; use omni to cover the area all round the mounting point.
Can the EAP725-Outdoor be used outdoors?
Yes. The EAP725-Outdoor has an IP66 weatherproof enclosure and is rated for -30 to 70 °C, so it can be pole or wall mounted outside.
EAP725-Outdoor or EAP650-Outdoor?
The EAP725-Outdoor is Wi-Fi 7 with a 2.5G port and selectable antennas; the EAP650-Outdoor is Wi-Fi 6 AX3000, IP67, with a passive PoE adapter included.
