The TP-Link Omada EAP727 is a BE5000 Wi-Fi 7 dual-band ceiling mount access point for business Wi-Fi. It delivers 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 4324 Mbps on 5 GHz, has one 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port, and is powered by 802.3at PoE+ or 12 V/1.5 A DC. TP-Link rate it for ceiling, wall, junction box or T-bar mounting, covering up to 185 m² (2,000 ft²) and 510+ concurrent clients.

What the EAP727 is for

The EAP727 brings Wi-Fi 7 to offices, classrooms and venues without needing 6 GHz clients. It is a compact 160 mm ceiling tp link access point with the highest client figure in the Omada dual-band Wi-Fi 7 ceiling range.

T-bar mounting is included, which suits suspended-ceiling offices.

What you will need

A PoE source and a network cable to the mounting position. The DC adapter is not included (12 V, 5.5/2.1 mm centre-positive plug). For central management, add an Omada controller (hardware, software or Omada Central cloud).

Does the EAP727 support PoE, and which TP-Link PoE switch powers it?

Yes. TP-Link specify 802.3at PoE+ input and a maximum draw of 15.6 W, so power it from an 802.3at PoE+ switch such as the Omada SG2210MP (8 PoE+ ports) or SG2428P (24 PoE+ ports). It also accepts 12 V/1.5 A DC; no DC adapter is included.

Does the EAP727 need an Omada controller?

It can be set up on its own through its web interface or the Omada app, and it is managed centrally by any Omada controller: TP-Link list Omada Central (cloud-based), the Omada hardware controllers such as the OC200 and OC300, and the free Omada Software Controller. TP-Link note that cloud access requires an Omada controller.

What Wi-Fi standard is the EAP727?

It is Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), BE5000 class, with TP-Link quoting 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 4324 Mbps on 5 GHz.

How many devices and how much area does the EAP727 cover?

TP-Link quote 510+ concurrent clients and coverage of up to 185 m² (2,000 ft²). These are TP-Link test figures; walls, ceilings and interference reduce real coverage, so plan a site survey for larger buildings.

Can the EAP727 be used outdoors?

No. It is an indoor unit rated for an operating temperature of 0–40 °C. For outdoor Wi-Fi see the Omada outdoor models in our access points range.

EAP727 or EAP723?

Both are dual-band Wi-Fi 7 with a 2.5G port. The EAP727 is BE5000 (4324 Mbps on 5 GHz, 510+ clients, 185 m²); the EAP723 is BE3600 (2882 Mbps on 5 GHz, 250+ clients, 140 m²) and costs less.

How quickly can I get it?

We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter — call first so we can confirm your order is ready. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
