The TP-Link Omada EAP772 is a BE9300 Wi-Fi 7 tri-band ceiling mount access point for business Wi-Fi. It delivers 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2880 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5760 Mbps on 6 GHz, has one 2.5G Ethernet port, and is powered by 802.3at PoE+ or a 12 V/2.5 A DC supply. TP-Link rate it for ceiling or wall mounting, covering up to 140 m² (1500 ft²) and 380+ concurrent clients.

What the EAP772 is for

The EAP772 is the flagship Omada Wi-Fi 7 ceiling tp link access point for busy offices, meeting rooms, schools and hospitality where many new laptops and phones support 6 GHz.

Its 2.5G port means it is best paired with a 2.5G PoE+ switch; on a gigabit port it still works but the uplink becomes the bottleneck.

What you will need

A PoE source and a network cable to the mounting position. The DC power adapter is not included, so plan on PoE+. For central management, add an Omada controller (hardware, software or Omada Central cloud).

Does the EAP772 support PoE, and which TP-Link PoE switch powers it?

Yes. TP-Link specify 802.3at PoE+ input and a maximum draw of 24.05 W, so power it from an 802.3at PoE+ switch such as the Omada SG2210MP (8 PoE+ ports) or SG2428P (24 PoE+ ports). It also accepts 12 V/2.5 A DC; no DC adapter is included.

Does the EAP772 need an Omada controller?

It can be set up on its own through its web interface or the Omada app, and it is managed centrally by any Omada controller: TP-Link list Omada Central (cloud-based), the Omada hardware controllers such as the OC200 and OC300, and the free Omada Software Controller. TP-Link note that cloud access requires an Omada controller.

What Wi-Fi standard is the EAP772?

It is Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), BE9300 class, with TP-Link quoting 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2880 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5760 Mbps on 6 GHz.

How many devices and how much area does the EAP772 cover?

TP-Link quote 380+ concurrent clients and coverage of up to 140 m² (1500 ft²). These are TP-Link test figures; walls, ceilings and interference reduce real coverage, so plan a site survey for larger buildings.

Can the EAP772 be used outdoors?

No. It is an indoor unit rated for an operating temperature of 0–40 °C. For outdoor Wi-Fi see the Omada outdoor models in our access points range.

EAP772 or EAP727: which Wi-Fi 7 AP should I choose?

The EAP772 adds the 6 GHz band (tri-band BE9300). The EAP727 is dual-band BE5000 without 6 GHz but TP-Link quote 510+ clients and 185 m². Choose the EAP772 if your devices support 6 GHz.

Does the EAP772 need a 2.5G switch?

No, it works on a gigabit PoE+ port, but a 2.5G PoE+ port such as on the Omada SG2210XMP-M2 removes the wired bottleneck.

How quickly can I get it?

We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily.
