It fits an E27 lamp holder, joins 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with Bluetooth used for setup, and is Matter compatible, so it can be added to other Matter platforms as well as the Tapo app.

What you will need

An E27 light fitting, a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and the Tapo app. To use it on another Matter platform you need that platform's Matter hub. Leave the wall switch on so the bulb stays powered.

Is the Tapo L535E Matter compatible?

Yes. TP-Link list it as compatible with Matter, and it also works with Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

How bright is the L535E?

1055 lumens, which TP-Link give as a 75 W incandescent equivalent, using 8.6 W at most.

Does it need a hub?

Not for the Tapo app: it joins 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi directly. Other Matter platforms need their own hub.

What is the difference from the L530E?

The L535E is brighter (1055 lm against 806 lm), is Matter compatible and is energy class E; the L530E is class F.

Can I see how much energy it uses?

Yes, TP-Link show energy monitoring in the Tapo app.
