The RG-RAP62-Wall is a multi-port Wi-Fi 6 wall-plate access point that gives a room up to 2401 Mbps on 5 GHz and 573 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, plus four gigabit LAN ports with PoE out on LAN4. It is 23.5 mm thick excluding the mounting bracket, and Ruijie show it embedded behind a TV.

What the RG-RAP62-Wall is for

Ruijie describe the RG-RAP62-Wall as designed for practical use: a multi-port wall-plate AP with 4 x 1GE LAN ports for the wired devices in a room and Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 for everything else. The specification counts five 10/100/1000BASE-T ports in total; as the unit is powered only over PoE, one port has to take the feed from your switch.

LAN4 supports PoE out, with a budget of 10 W when the access point is fed from an IEEE 802.3at source. The access point's own consumption, up to 12 W, is on top of that, and Ruijie quote the budget only for an 802.3at source, so feed it from PoE+ if LAN4 is to power anything. Check that the device you plan to run from LAN4 draws no more than 10 W.

Ruijie quote a 23.5 mm thickness (the dimensions row adds that this excludes the mounting bracket), show the unit embedded behind a TV and state support for 86 mm, EU and US standard junction boxes. Management is centralised on Ruijie Cloud, where Ruijie list AI roaming, AI network optimisation, AI Heatmap Pro and AI diagnostics. The hardware maximum is 256 associated clients (64 on 2.4 GHz, 256 on 5 GHz); Ruijie do not state an IP rating and the operating range is 0°C to 40°C.

What you will need

The RG-RAP62-Wall has no local power input, so it needs a PoE switch port or a PoE injector. The access point alone draws up to 12 W, within the 15.4 W of a standard 802.3af port, but Ruijie quote the 10 W PoE-out budget only for an 802.3at source, so use a PoE+ port or an 802.3at injector if LAN4 is to power a device. You also need an 86 mm, EU or US standard junction box and a network cable run back to the switch. Ruijie's page does not list box contents, so ask us what is in the box before ordering.
