TL-SG108PE — 8-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch with 4-Port PoE+
The TP-Link TL-SG108PE is an 8-port Easy Smart managed switch with 8× gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbps) RJ45 ports, 4 of them PoE+ (64 W budget), in a desktop case, fanless. It is plug and play out of the box, and adds VLAN, QoS and IGMP snooping settings through a web interface and TP-Link's Easy Smart Configuration Utility.
What the TL-SG108PE is for
The TL-SG108PE is a managed PoE switch for powering and connecting IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points and VoIP phones over a single network cable. TP-Link list a 64 W PoE budget shared across its 4 PoE ports, using 802.3af/at PoE+.
Add up the PoE draw of every device from its datasheet and keep the total within 64 W. For IP cameras that suit it, see our TP-Link VIGI cameras, and for other sizes our full range of network switches.

What you will need
You need network cable for each device (Cat5e or above for gigabit links) and a mains socket for the switch. Total PoE draw of all connected devices must stay within the 64 W budget. The Easy Smart Configuration Utility runs on Microsoft Windows; the web interface works from any browser.
Buying from Zenith Security Co.
We are a supplier, not an installer. We will go through the TL-SG108PE with you before you buy (the number of ports you need, the port speed against your devices and the PoE budget against your cameras or access points) and depending on your requirements and your area we can recommend a qualified trade installer. We have been operating since 2012 and you can visit our trade counter in Wolverhampton.
What is the PoE budget of the TL-SG108PE?
TP-Link list a 64 W PoE budget shared across 4 PoE ports. Add up the draw of each device from its datasheet; PTZ and heated cameras draw more than fixed cameras.
Which PoE standard does the TL-SG108PE support?
The PoE ports are 802.3af/at compliant, so they power standard PoE (15.4 W) and PoE+ (30 W) devices. They will not power 24 V passive PoE devices.
What does Easy Smart mean on the TL-SG108PE?
It is plug and play like an unmanaged switch, but TP-Link add a web-based interface and the Easy Smart Configuration Utility (for Microsoft Windows) so you can set VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, link aggregation and port mirroring.
How many VLANs does the TL-SG108PE support?
TP-Link list up to 32 VLANs at the same time, out of 4K VLAN IDs, with MTU, port-based and 802.1Q tag VLAN.
What is the difference between the TL-SG108PE and the TL-SG1008P?
The TL-SG1008P is unmanaged plug and play, with no web interface. The TL-SG108PE is Easy Smart, adding VLANs, 802.1p/DSCP QoS, IGMP snooping v1/v2/v3, static link aggregation, port mirroring and cable diagnostics.
How fast are the ports on the TL-SG108PE?
All 8 RJ45 ports are gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbps).
Can the TL-SG108PE be rack mounted?
No. The TL-SG108PE is a desktop switch. For a rack cabinet choose a rack-mountable model such as the TL-SG1016 or TL-SG1024.
