The most common recorder size for homes and small businesses.
These are 8-channel Hikvision NVRs (network video recorders). They suit a house, shop, small commercial unit or yard.
How do I choose an 8-channel NVR?
- PoE: models with /8P power the cameras down the same cable as the picture, so you don't need a separate switch.
- Drive bays: one bay limits how long you keep footage. Two bays roughly doubles it.
- Smart features: AcuSense tells people and vehicles apart from everything else, so you get fewer false alarms. AcuSeek lets you search recordings by describing what you're looking for.
- Hard drive: these recorders come without one. See our surveillance hard drives.
Our Hikvision NVR buying guide covers every series, the PoE and bandwidth traps, and the (C) vs (E) revision difference.
Tell us how many cameras you have and how long you need to keep footage. Call us on 01902 902251. We deliver to England, Scotland and Wales within 1–2 working days.
