Hikvision DS-KD8005-IME1/S — 5 MP modular door station main unit, stainless-steel finish

The DS-KD8005-IME1/S is the /S version of the DS-KD8005-IME1. Hikvision's datasheets for the two are identical on camera, interfaces and capacity; the /S denotes the stainless-steel finish that Hikvision uses across the KD8 range, and it pairs with the DS-KD-K12/S nametag module and the DS-KABD8003-RS3/S stainless rain shield for a fully matched panel.

Hikvision's KD8 modular door station is built from a main unit (camera, microphone, speaker and one call button) plus sub-modules that clip into a common frame: nametag buttons, card reader, keypad, display, indicator and induction loop. Modules connect to the main unit over RS-485 and take their 12 VDC from it, so a panel for a block of flats is specified module by module. Tell us the flat count and the entrance and we will draw up the frame, modules and rain shield.

This is part of Hikvision's IP video intercom range: door stations, indoor stations and accessories that connect over a standard network (PoE or 12 VDC) and are configured with the iVMS-4200 client or the Hik-Connect app. IP-series products are designed to be used together within that range. Camera

A 5 MP sensor delivering 3200 × 1800 across a 134° horizontal by 82° vertical field of view, with 100 dB WDR for a visitor backlit by the street and low-illumination IR supplement lighting for night. Compression is H.265, H.264 or MJPEG, and the stream can be pulled into a recorder over RTSP/ONVIF. Audio is a built-in omnidirectional microphone and loudspeaker rated 80 dB at 30 cm, with noise suppression and echo cancellation.

Door control and modules

Two lock relays rated 30 VDC 2 A, two exit-button inputs and two door-contact inputs cover an outer and inner door; four alarm inputs (two exit buttons and two door contacts by default) and a tamper switch complete the local I/O. The RS-485 port is dedicated to Hikvision sub-modules — nametag buttons, EM reader, indicator, induction loop, touch display and the DS-KD-AL8 alarm-input box — which take their 12 VDC from the main unit. Local memory holds 2000 users.

System, power and rating

Up to 1000 linked indoor stations and 99 sub door stations per system; protocols TCP/IP, RTSP, RTP, SIP and ONVIF over a 10/100 Mbps RJ45. Power is PoE 802.3af or 12 VDC 1.5 A, consumption ≤ 5 W. IP65 and IK08, -40 °C to +60 °C, surface or flush mounting, three indicators. Linux with 4 GB ROM and 256 MB RAM.
