The Ruijie Reyee RG-RAP2200(E) is a dual-radio Wi-Fi 5 access point for ceiling or wall mounting. Ruijie rate it at 866 Mbps on 5 GHz and 400 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with 2x2 radios on each band, and give a hardware maximum of 110 associated clients.

What the RG-RAP2200(E) is for

Ruijie describe the RG-RAP2200(E) as a dual-radio access point and cite MU-MIMO under 802.11ac Wave 2 for a better multi-user experience. The hardware maximum is 110 associated clients (64 on 2.4 GHz, 110 on 5 GHz); plan on fewer active users per access point in practice, because they all share the radio rates of 866 Mbps on 5 GHz and 400 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports are fitted.

Ruijie's page describes the set-up and management in these terms: self-organising network (SON) technology sets up a whole Wi-Fi network from the Ruijie Cloud app, cloud management is free, and the cloud adds centralised management, scenario-based configuration, portal authentication and remote monitoring. WIO (Wi-Fi Intelligent Optimization) optimises the wireless network with one click, Layer 3 roaming lets clients move between Layer 3 networks without interruption, and Reyee Mesh lets you add an extra access point with less wiring.

It is an indoor unit: the operating range is 0°C to 40°C and Ruijie do not state an IP rating. It is a Wi-Fi 5 access point, so if you want Wi-Fi 6 look at the RG-RAP2260 or the wider access points range.

What you will need

Start with power. The RG-RAP2200(E) draws a maximum of 12.95 W, so a standard PoE (802.3af) port on a PoE switch or a PoE injector is enough; Ruijie list both PoE and PoE+. It can instead run from a 12 V, 1.5 A DC adapter (5.5 mm x 2.1 mm connector), but Ruijie's packing list shows no adapter, only the mounting bracket, screws, expansion anchors and guide, so buy one separately if you are not using PoE. You also need a network cable run back to the switch, unless the unit joins by Reyee Mesh, in which case it still needs power where it is mounted.
