The Ruijie Reyee RG-RAP2260 is a dual-radio Wi-Fi 6 access point for ceiling or wall mounting, with 2x2 MU-MIMO on both bands. Ruijie rate it at 2401 Mbps on 5 GHz and 573 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, and fit a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet uplink port alongside a standard Gigabit port.

What the RG-RAP2260 is for

Ruijie position the RG-RAP2260 for high-density scenarios and quote 500+ client connections; the specification gives a hardware maximum of 512 associated clients (64 on 2.4 GHz, 512 on 5 GHz). Treat that as a ceiling rather than a design figure, because every active client shares the radio rates of 2401 Mbps on 5 GHz and 573 Mbps on 2.4 GHz.

The uplink port is 10/100/1000/2500BASE-T. Connected to a multi-gigabit port on a network switch, the wired side is not held to 1 Gbps; on an ordinary Gigabit switch the same port links at 1 Gbps. The second port is 10/100/1000 only. Of the related models, the RG-RAP2260(E) has 4x4 radios on each band and the RG-RAP2260(H) is the AX6000 model with two 2.5 Gbps ports.

Ruijie's page lists free cloud management with self-organising network (SON), centralised network management, scenario-based configuration, cloud portal authentication and remote monitoring, plus Reyee Mesh for adding an extra access point without cabling. It is an indoor unit, rated IP41, for 0°C to 40°C.

What you will need

A power source of the right class comes first. The RG-RAP2260 draws up to 18 W, more than the 15.4 W a standard 802.3af port supplies, so although Ruijie list PoE and PoE+, plan on a PoE+ (802.3at) port on a PoE switch or a PoE+ injector. The alternative is a 12 V, 2 A DC adapter (5.5 mm x 2.1 mm connector); none is listed in the box, which holds the access point, mounting bracket, screws, expansion anchors and guide. To use the 2.5 Gbps uplink you need a switch with a 2.5G port and a sound network cable run to it; otherwise the link runs at 1 Gbps.

Will a standard PoE switch power the RG-RAP2260?

Ruijie list PoE and PoE+ as power options, but the maximum consumption is 18 W and a standard 802.3af port supplies up to 15.4 W. Use a PoE+ (802.3at) port or injector, or a 12 V DC adapter, so the access point has its full power available.

Do I need a 2.5G switch for the RG-RAP2260?

No, but you need one to benefit from the 2.5 Gbps uplink. The uplink port is 10/100/1000/2500BASE-T, so it also links at 1 Gbps to an ordinary Gigabit switch.

How many clients does the RG-RAP2260 support?

The hardware maximum is 512 associated wireless clients, with up to 64 on 2.4 GHz and 512 on 5 GHz. Ruijie quote 500+ client connections; the practical number per access point depends on what those clients are doing.

Is a power adapter included with the RG-RAP2260?

Ruijie's packing list shows the access point, a mounting bracket, two screws, two expansion anchors and a quick start guide. No power adapter is listed, so use PoE+ or buy a 12 V, 2 A adapter separately.

How is the RG-RAP2260 managed?
