The Ruijie Reyee RG-RAP6260(G) is an outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point giving up to 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz and 573 Mbps on 2.4 GHz from built-in omnidirectional antennas, two per band. It is rated IP68, works from -40°C to +65°C and has a Gigabit SFP port alongside its Gigabit Ethernet port.

What the RG-RAP6260(G) is for

Ruijie show the RG-RAP6260(G) in squares, scenic spots, stations, schools, markets and construction sites - open outdoor areas that need Wi-Fi from a wall- or pole-mounted unit. The build matches that: an IP68 rating, 4000 V surge protection, a V0 flame-retardant rating and a -40°C to +65°C operating range.

The Gigabit SFP port is the feature to note. Ruijie state that with it the RG-RAP6260(G) supports data transmission of up to 20 km from a data centre over single-mode fibre. Ruijie also list an FBAR filter to suppress interference from mobile base stations and Bluetooth devices, Layer 3 roaming, and Reyee Mesh for setting up outdoor Wi-Fi.

The radios are 2x2 MU-MIMO per band with a combined 1774 Mbps, and the hardware maximum is 256 associated clients (64 on 2.4 GHz, 256 on 5 GHz) - a ceiling, not a working load. Ruijie list free cloud management with a self-organising network, cloud portal authentication, centralised network management and remote monitoring and maintenance. What you will need

A PoE+ (802.3at) source: Ruijie list PoE+ as the only power supply and a maximum consumption of 18 W, which is more than a standard PoE (802.3af) port supplies, so use a PoE+ port on a PoE switch or a PoE+ injector. Fibre carries data only, so if you use the SFP port you still need a PoE+ feed on the Ethernet port, plus a 1G SFP module at each end of the fibre run. Ruijie's page gives no box contents list, so do not assume a module or injector is included. Tell us the switch model at the other end and we will check the module choice.

Will a standard PoE switch power the RG-RAP6260(G)?

No. Ruijie list PoE+ as the power supply and a maximum consumption of 18 W, which is above the 15.4 W a standard PoE (802.3af) port supplies. Use a PoE+ (802.3at) switch port or injector; there is no DC input.

Can the RG-RAP6260(G) be connected by fibre?

Yes. It has one 1GE SFP port, and Ruijie state it supports data transmission of up to 20 km from a data centre over single-mode fibre. You need a 1G SFP module for the port, and the access point still needs PoE+ power on its Ethernet port.
