The Ruijie Reyee RG-RAP6260(H) is an outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point with eight built-in omnidirectional antennas, giving up to 4803 Mbps on 5 GHz and 1147 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. It is rated IP68, works from -40°C to +65°C and uplinks over a 2.5G Ethernet port or a Gigabit SFP port.

What the RG-RAP6260(H) is for

Ruijie pitch the RG-RAP6260(H) at outdoor areas with many users at once: 4x4 MU-MIMO on both bands with OFDMA, 1024QAM and 160 MHz bandwidth gives a combined rate of 5.95 Gbit/s, and the hardware maximum is 512 associated clients (64 on 2.4 GHz, 512 on 5 GHz). Ruijie quote a coverage radius of 100 metres at 2.4 GHz and 300 metres at 5 GHz from its eight built-in antennas in field tests, and note that range varies with the environment and the receiving device.

The housing is completely sealed and rated IP68; Ruijie describe it as waterproof, dustproof, moisture-proof and flame-retardant, with wind erosion protection and 4 kV surge protection that includes the DC port. Reyee Mesh is listed for adding extra outdoor Wi-Fi without a data cable, and Ruijie list free cloud management with remote monitoring, remote Wi-Fi management and cloud portal authentication.

Two limits to plan around. The wired uplink is 2.5 Gbit/s on the Ethernet port or 1 Gbit/s on the SFP port, so that is the ceiling for traffic to the wired network, and the switch port must also be 2.5G to reach the higher figure. And at up to 40 W it is beyond what PoE+ supplies. If that is more than the site needs, the RG-RAP6260(G) is the AX1800 model with an IP68 rating and an SFP port, and it runs from PoE+ at up to 18 W.

What you will need

Power first: maximum consumption is 40 W. Ruijie list PoE+/PoE++ and a 48 V, 1 A DC input (the adapter is used first if both are connected), but a PoE+ (802.3at) port supplies up to 30 W, so plan on a PoE++ (802.3bt) port on a PoE switch, a PoE++ injector or the DC adapter; Ruijie's page does not say what the unit limits on PoE+. No adapter, injector or SFP module is in Ruijie's box list. For the 2.5G uplink you need a 2.5G multi-gig switch port and network cable to suit; for fibre, a 1G SFP module at each end.

Is a power adapter included with the RG-RAP6260(H)?

Ruijie's packing list shows the access point, hose clamps, mounting plate and arm, screws and expansion anchors, cable glands, a grounding cable and a user manual. No DC adapter, PoE injector or SFP module is listed, so plan to buy the power source separately.

Can the RG-RAP6260(H) be connected by fibre?

Yes. It has one 1GE SFP port and Ruijie describe long-distance deployment over optical fibre. Ruijie's page does not give a distance figure for this model, so tell us the run length and the switch model and we will check the module choice.

How fast is the uplink on the RG-RAP6260(H)?

The Ethernet port is 10/100/1000/2500BASE-T, giving a 2.5 Gbit/s uplink when the switch port is also 2.5G, and the SFP port is Gigabit. The radios are rated at 4803 Mbps on 5 GHz and 1147 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, so the wired uplink is the ceiling for traffic to the wired network.

How many devices can connect to the RG-RAP6260(H)?

Ruijie state a maximum of 512 associated wireless clients with both bands enabled: 64 on 2.4 GHz and 512 on 5 GHz. That is a hardware ceiling, so plan for fewer in normal use.
