The RG-RAP6260(H)-D is Ruijie Reyee's directional outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point in the AX6000 class. Four built-in directional antennas on each band concentrate coverage in one direction rather than all round, and the housing is sealed to IP68 with an operating range of –40°C to +65°C.

What the RG-RAP6260(H)-D is for

Ruijie position the RG-RAP6260(H)-D as a directional outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point with a high client limit. It is a dual-radio design with 4x4 MU-MIMO on both bands and eight spatial streams, rated at up to 4803 Mbps on 5 GHz and 1147 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Ruijie list a maximum of 512 associated wireless clients with both bands enabled (64 on 2.4 GHz, 512 on 5 GHz); treat that as an association ceiling rather than the number of users it will serve at full speed.

Four built-in directional antennas on each band point the coverage in one direction, which suits an area that lies to one side of the mounting point rather than all round it. For all-round coverage, the RG-RAP6260(H) is the omnidirectional model in the same AX6000 class. Ruijie do not publish a beam angle, antenna gain or coverage distance for this model on the product page, so ask us for the datasheet if the antenna pattern matters to your layout.

For the wired uplink there is one 10/100/1000/2500BASE-T port, which can run at 2.5 Gbps when the switch port at the other end supports it, and one 1G SFP port that Ruijie say supports runs of up to 20 km over single-mode fibre. Reyee Mesh is listed for adding outdoor Wi-Fi with less cabling, and the cloud functions Ruijie list are remote monitoring, remote Wi-Fi management, cloud portal authentication and wireless intelligent optimisation.

What you will need

Ruijie list PoE+/PoE++ and a 48 V, 1 A DC input as the power options, with a maximum consumption of 40 W. That is more than the 30 W a PoE+ (802.3at) port supplies, so plan on a PoE++ (802.3bt) PoE switch port or PoE injector, or use the DC input. Ruijie's page gives no box contents, so ask us whether a DC adapter and mounting bracket are supplied. The 2.5G port needs a 2.5G-capable switch port to run at full rate and outdoor-rated network cable; the SFP port needs a 1G SFP module and fibre, and the unit still needs power at the mounting point because fibre carries none. Allow for a wall or pole fixing that will take up to 3.5 kg.

Ruijie say the 1G SFP port supports runs of up to 20 km over single-mode fibre, which helps when the mounting point is a long way from the cabinet. A copper run to the 2.5G port is subject to the normal 100 m limit for Ethernet cabling, and either way the access point needs PoE or DC power at the mounting point.

It is rated IP68, and Ruijie describe the design as completely sealed, waterproof, dustproof, moisture-proof and flame-retardant, with 4 kV surge protection. The operating temperature range is –40°C to +65°C and it mounts on a wall or pole.

How many devices can connect to the RG-RAP6260(H)-D?

Ruijie list a maximum of 512 associated wireless clients with both bands enabled: up to 64 on 2.4 GHz and 512 on 5 GHz. That is an association limit, so real-world capacity depends on what the clients are doing.
