The TP-Link Omada EAP787 is a BE12000 Wi-Fi 7 ceiling mount access point. It is tri-band (2.4, 5 and 6 GHz), quoting 688 Mbps (2.4 GHz) + 5765 Mbps (5 GHz) + 5765 Mbps (6 GHz), and has one 10G/2.5G Ethernet port. It is powered by 802.3bt or 802.3at PoE or 12 V / 2.5 A DC (DC adapter not included). TP-Link rate it for 510+ concurrent clients and up to 190 m² of coverage.

What the EAP787 is for

It is for offices, schools, clinics and hotels that want Wi-Fi 7 speeds from a ceiling access point, with a 10 Gbps port so the wired link does not hold the Wi-Fi back. See our full range of access points.

Power it from a PoE++ (802.3bt) switch port that also runs at 10G or 2.5G and manage the whole site from one Omada controller.

As a TP-Link Omada access point the EAP787 can be managed centrally from an Omada Hardware, Software or Cloud-Based Controller and the Omada App, or standalone through its own web interface.

What you will need

A PoE++ (802.3bt) source and network cable to the mounting position. The DC power adapter is not included. For central management, add an Omada controller such as the OC200 or OC300, or use Omada Central cloud.

Does the EAP787 support PoE?

Yes. TP-Link specify 802.3bt or 802.3at PoE input, or 12 V / 2.5 A DC (no adapter in the box). Maximum draw: 26.3 W (For PoE); 22.4 W (For DC).

Does the EAP787 need an Omada controller?

It can be set up on its own through its web interface or the Omada app, and is managed centrally by any Omada controller: Omada Central (cloud-based), hardware controllers such as the OC200 and OC300, or the free Omada Software Controller.

What Wi-Fi standard is the EAP787?

Wi-Fi 7 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), BE12000 class, tri-band (2.4, 5 and 6 GHz).

How many devices does the EAP787 support?

TP-Link quote 510+ concurrent clients and coverage up to 190 m². These are TP-Link test figures; walls, ceilings and interference reduce real coverage, so plan a site survey for larger buildings.

Can the EAP787 be used outdoors?

No. It is an indoor unit (operating temperature 0°C to 40°C). For outdoor Wi-Fi see the Omada outdoor models in our access points range.

How quickly can I get it?

We ship nationally from our multi-million pound warehouse, with orders leaving daily. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. You can also collect in store from our trade counter — call first so we can confirm your order is ready. We do not ship to Northern Ireland.
