NVR HDC (8-ch) is the low-voltage version of Ajax's NVR H recorder. It runs from an 8 to 16 V DC supply instead of the mains, which suits sites powered from a 12 V supply or a standby battery, and it has an HDMI output so a monitor on site can show live and recorded footage. Ajax notes that once it is set up, viewing on the local monitor carries on even without an internet connection. It records up to 8 IP cameras at up to 8MP onto one SATA drive of up to 16 TB, runs motion detection on every channel and adds AI object detection with Ajax cameras. Two USB ports take a mouse, keyboard or flash drive. Linked to an Ajax alarm, an event from a detector brings the matching camera to the front of the video wall. It fixes to the wall on the SmartBracket panel in the box. Choose black or white above.

Ajax BulletCam, TurretCam, DomeCam Mini and IndoorCam cameras, and other IP cameras that support ONVIF or RTSP. Alarm-linked video needs an Ajax hub with Ajax detectors. You also need a DC supply of 8-16 V able to deliver up to 4 A, a SATA surveillance hard drive of up to 16 TB and, for local viewing, an HDMI monitor.

Common questions

What power supply does it need?

A DC source of 8 to 16 V that can supply up to 4 A. With the jumper fitted on the power board the range becomes 12.4 to 16 V. The recorder uses up to 24 W. No power supply is included, but a terminal adapter is in the box.

How is it different from NVR HAC?

NVR HAC runs from the mains at 110-240 V AC. NVR HDC runs from a low-voltage DC supply instead. Channels, storage, HDMI output and case size are the same, and the HDC weighs 752 g against 782 g.

Does it come with a hard drive?

No. It has one SATA bay that takes a 2.5 or 3.5 inch drive of up to 16 TB.

What resolution does the HDMI output run at?

Up to 1920 × 1080. Ajax also lists 1600 × 1200, 1280 × 1024 and 1280 × 720.

Can I use cameras from other brands?

Yes. It records IP cameras that follow ONVIF profiles or stream over RTSP, and Ajax lists it as conformant with ONVIF Profile G and Profile S. AI object detection needs Ajax cameras.

Where can I fit it?

Indoors only. Ajax rates it IP20, for 0 °C to +40 °C and humidity up to 75%. It measures 212 × 212 × 64 mm.
