Ajax DomeCam Mini (8 Mp/4 mm) PoE Dome IP Camera

Ajax DomeCam Mini (8 Mp/4 mm) - PoE Dome IP Camera

DomeCam Mini (8 Mp/4 mm) is a compact 8-megapixel dome camera for ceilings, soffits and walls where a low-profile camera looks tidier than a bullet. It records at 3840 × 2160 (4K) through a 4 mm lens that takes in 75 to 85 degrees across, a narrower view than the 2.8 mm version that puts more detail on subjects further away. Infrared LEDs light the scene up to 15 m after dark. It finds people, pets and vehicles in the picture, records to a microSD card of up to 256 GB, and is powered over the network cable or from 12 V. Choose black or white above.

Also listed as 76025 (black) and 76024 (white). Ajax model ID DCM.84.W.

Technical specification

Works with

Ajax NVR (8-ch) and NVR (16-ch) recorders, the Ajax apps, other ONVIF Profile G or S recorders, and Ajax intruder alarms: a scenario in the Ajax app can make chosen cameras start recording when an Ajax detector is triggered, and the clip is sent to the mobile or desktop app. Ajax lists the JunctionBox (118×59) and MountCam A1, A2, B1 and B2 mounts as compatible accessories.

Common questions

Is 8 MP the same as 4K?

Yes. The top resolution is 3840 × 2160, which is 4K UHD. Lower streams of 5 MP down to 0.6 MP are there for remote viewing on slower connections.

What is the difference between the 4 mm and 2.8 mm versions?

The 4 mm lens covers 75 to 85 degrees across; the 2.8 mm lens covers 100 to 110 degrees. The 4 mm version reaches identification at up to 11.6 m, against 9 m for the 2.8 mm.

How far does the night vision reach?

The infrared LEDs cover up to 15 m, which suits rooms, entrances and the front of a house. For a longer reach look at TurretCam (8 Mp/4 mm), with infrared up to 50 m.

What memory card does it take?

A microSD card of up to 256 GB, Class V30 or faster. The card is not included.

How is it powered?

From a PoE switch, injector or recorder (802.3af/at, Class 3) over the network cable, or from a 12 V DC 1 A supply, which is not included.

Can I use it outside?

Yes. It is rated IP66 and IK08 and works from -30 °C to +60 °C, so it can go under a soffit or on an outside wall as well as indoors.
