WizColor is Dahua's low-light imaging technology for colour CCTV video at night. Dahua launched it in September 2024 under the slogan "As Bright As Daylight". A WizColor camera puts three things together in one camera: an F1.0 large-aperture lens, a large-pixel image sensor and an AI image processor (AI-ISP). Dahua has since moved on to WizColor 2.0.
This guide explains what WizColor does, how it works, what WizColor 2.0 changes and which Dahua WizColor cameras we stock.

Most CCTV cameras switch to black and white at night and use infrared light to see. WizColor is designed to keep colour, detail and clarity when light is low. Colour matters when you need to describe what happened later: the colour of a coat, a car or a van.
Dahua says WizColor gives brighter, more colourful night images, keeps detail and reduces motion blur on moving people and vehicles.
The aperture is the opening that lets light through the lens. Dahua says an F1.0 aperture lets in 2.5 times the light of a typical F1.6 lens.
Bigger pixels catch more light. Dahua explains that each larger pixel receives more photons and turns them into a stronger signal, which gives a brighter picture with less noise.
The ISP (image signal processor) turns the sensor signal into the picture you see. WizColor uses Dahua's AI-ISP, a deep-learning image processor trained to restore detail and colour and to reduce blur and ghosting on moving targets.
WizColor 2.0 is built on what Dahua calls WizColor X technology. Dahua lists three upgrades:
Dahua shows WizColor 2.0 across WizSense 2, WizSense 3 and WizMind 5 network cameras, Lite series HDCVI cameras and PTZ models, with some models still marked as coming soon. The WizColor cameras listed below are current models; check each product page for its lens and sensor details.
In 2025 Dahua expanded WizColor into five product categories: WizColor + 4K, WizColor + PT, WizColor + Vari-focal, WizColor + HDCVI and WizColor + 4G. That means WizColor is not limited to one camera type: you can get it in IP cameras, HDCVI (coax) cameras, fixed or vari-focal lenses and 4K resolution.
Dahua lists factories, farms, car parks, fish ponds and courtyards as typical WizColor sites. In practice it suits anywhere you want colour evidence after dark:
These combine WizColor with Dahua's TiOC active deterrence (light and siren). See our TiOC and Active Deterrence guide for how that part works.

They aim at the same thing, colour video at night. Full-color is Dahua's earlier family, launched in 2020, and it uses an F1.0 lens with warm supplementary light. WizColor adds Dahua's AI-ISP image processing to the large aperture and large-pixel sensor. See our Dahua Full-color guide.
WizColor uses an F1.0 lens, a large-pixel sensor and AI-ISP. WizColor 2.0 (WizColor X) moves to an F0.8 UltraSight lens, 4µm pixels and AI-ISP 2.0 with large AI models and a motion-sensing algorithm.
Yes. WizColor + HDCVI is one of the WizColor categories Dahua lists, and we stock the 5MP DH-HAC-HDW1549XMP-IL-A-PRO-028 WizColor HDCVI eyeball for use with a Dahua XVR.
Many do. The WizColor TiOC PRO cameras we stock are also WizSense AI cameras with active deterrence. Read our WizSense guide for the AI side.
Pick the resolution (6MP 3K or 8MP 4K), the lens (fixed 2.8mm or 3.6mm, or vari-focal) and the shape (eyeball or bullet), then check it works with your recorder. If you are not sure, call us and we will help.
