Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3849HP-AS-PV-0280B-PRO-Grey - 8MP 4K WizColor TiOC PRO AI Eyeball IP CCTV Camera

Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3849HP-AS-PV-0280B-PRO-Grey - 8MP 4K WizColor TiOC PRO AI Eyeball Turret IP CCTV Camera

The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3849HP-AS-PV-0280B-PRO-Grey is the grey version of Dahua's 8MP WizColor TiOC PRO eyeball camera, with a 2.8mm lens. The grey housing suits darker walls and soffits where a white camera would stand out.

The 2.8mm F1.0 lens gives a 109 degree horizontal view, and the 1/1.8 inch sensor is rated to 0.0004 lux in colour. Two multi-core lights give IR and warm light up to 30m each, and Dahua's DORI figures are detection at 82m and identification at 8.2m.

It has red and blue warning lights with an alarm sound, and a dual microphone and speaker for two-way talk. AI includes SMD 4.0, intrusion, tripwire, stay and loitering detection and AcuPick. Power is 12V DC or PoE (802.3af) at up to 10W, and the metal housing is IP67 rated.

Also listed as IPC-HDW3849HP-AS-PV-0280B-PRO-Grey, and in Dahua's series as IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-PRO (grey housing, 2.8mm lens).

Key features

• 8MP (3840 × 2160, 4K) at 25/30 fps from a 1/1.8" CMOS sensor with an F1.0 large aperture lens (Starlight technology).
• WizColor: AI-ISP, a large pixel size sensor and a large aperture capture vivid full-colour images at night from weak light such as moonlight and city lights.
• Infrared night vision camera with built-in multi-core light: IR and warm light each reach up to 30 m with the 2.8 mm lens.
• Active deterrence: sound and light alarm with red and blue lights; one-tap arming and disarming.
• Two-way talk through the built-in dual microphone and a 1-channel speaker.
• SMD 4.0, AcuPick target search (with back-end devices) and AI SSA; intrusion and tripwire classify humans and vehicles; stay detection, loitering detection and face detection (full image).
• 130 dB WDR, 3D NR, HLC and BLC; Super AI Coding (H.265/H.264) saves bandwidth and storage.
• microSD slot up to 512 GB; 1 alarm input and output, 1 audio input and output.
• IP67 protection (dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water) for outdoor use; 12 VDC (±30%) or PoE (802.3af).

Technical specification

How far it can see (Dahua DORI figures)

Dahua datasheet figures for the 2.8 mm lens (EN 62676-4). They do not reflect intelligent function distances.

Common questions

Is it a waterproof outdoor security camera?

Yes. Its IP67 housing is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water, so it can be mounted outdoors.

Is it an infrared camera?

Yes. It has built-in IR and warm light for night recording, and WizColor adds full-colour night images.

Is it a motion detection camera?

Yes. SMD 4.0 smart motion detection, with intrusion and tripwire rules, classifies humans and vehicles.

What does TiOC PRO mean?

Dahua lists this camera in its TiOC range, and its page for this model is titled 8MP WizColor TiOC PRO Eyeball Camera. The datasheet lists a sound and light alarm with red and blue lights for active deterrence. See our TiOC guide.

What does WizColor do?

Dahua WizColor combines AI-ISP, a large pixel size sensor and a large aperture to capture vivid colour images at night, using weak light such as moonlight and city lights, while keeping detail and limiting motion blur.

Is it a 4K camera?

Yes. It is an 8MP camera with a maximum 3840 × 2160 image, which is 4K.

What does the 2.8 mm lens give me?

A horizontal field of view of 109° (H 109°, V 59°, D 131°), IR and warm light up to 30 m, and a DORI detect distance of 82.0 m.

Is it a Starlight camera?

Dahua says its Starlight technology and large aperture lens let the camera produce clear, vivid images in poor lighting. See our Starlight guide.

Does it need a separate power supply?

It runs on 12 VDC (±30%) or PoE (802.3af), using up to 10 W on PoE. A PoE switch can power it over the network cable.

Will it work with a recorder that is not Dahua?

It supports ONVIF Profile S, G and T, so it can be added to compatible third-party recorders. Smart Search and AcuPick work together with Dahua back-end devices. See our NVRs.

Can I talk through the camera?

Yes. It has a built-in dual microphone and speaker for two-way talk, plus 1 audio input and 1 audio output for external devices.

Can it store footage on a memory card?

Yes. It takes a microSD card up to 512GB, and also supports FTP, SFTP and NAS storage.

How loud is the siren?

Dahua gives the built-in speaker a maximum sound level of 110dB at 10cm, measured in lab conditions.
