Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3849HP-AS-PV-0280B-PRO - 8MP 4K WizColor TiOC PRO Eyeball Turret IP CCTV Camera

The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3849HP-AS-PV-0280B-PRO is an 8MP 4K eyeball camera from Dahua's 3 Series TiOC PRO range, with a fixed 2.8mm F1.0 lens. Its 1/1.8-inch sensor and WizColor processing are designed to give colour images at night from weak light such as moonlight and city lighting.

The 2.8mm lens gives a 109 degree horizontal view, and IR and warm light each reach up to 30m. It records 3840 x 2160 at up to 25/30fps, with 130dB WDR and minimum illumination of 0.0004 lux in colour.

For deterrence it has red and blue warning lights and a built-in speaker (up to 110dB at 10cm in Dahua's lab test), plus a dual microphone. Intrusion and tripwire rules classify people and vehicles, with SMD 4.0 and AcuPick search. It takes a Micro SD card up to 512GB, runs on 12V DC or PoE (802.3af) at up to 10W, and is IP67 rated for -40 to +60 degrees C.

Also listed as IPC-HDW3849HP-AS-PV-0280B-PRO.

Common questions

What does TiOC PRO mean?

Dahua lists this camera in its TiOC range. TiOC stands for Three-in-One Camera: Dahua's name for a camera that combines 24/7 monitoring, active deterrence and alarms in one unit. See our TiOC guide. Dahua's page for this model is titled 8MP WizColor TiOC PRO Eyeball Camera.

What does WizColor do?

Dahua WizColor combines AI-ISP, a large pixel size sensor and a large aperture to capture vivid colour images at night, using weak light sources such as moonlight and city lights, while keeping detail and limiting motion blur.

Is it a 4K camera?

Yes. It is an 8MP camera with a maximum 3840 × 2160 image, which is 4K.

How does the deterrence work?

Dahua lists a sound and light alarm with red and blue lights for active deterrence, and one-tap arming and disarming.

Is it a Starlight camera?

Dahua says its Starlight technology and large aperture lens let the camera produce clear, vivid images in poor lighting. See our Starlight guide.

Can it be used outdoors and at night?

Yes. It is rated IP67 and Dahua lists an operating temperature of -40 °C to +60 °C, so it can be mounted outdoors. IR and warm light each reach up to 30 m with the 2.8 mm lens for night vision.

Does it need a separate power supply?

It runs on 12 VDC (±30%) or PoE (802.3af), using up to 10 W on PoE. A PoE switch can power it over the network cable.

Will it work with a recorder that is not Dahua?

It supports ONVIF Profile S, G and T, so it can be added to compatible third-party recorders. Smart Search and AcuPick work together with Dahua back-end devices. See our NVRs.

Does it have two-way talk?

Dahua lists a built-in dual microphone and a built-in speaker, and its key points mention real-time talk. There is also 1 audio input and 1 audio output for external devices.

What is the field of view of the 2.8mm lens?

Horizontal 109 degrees, vertical 59 degrees and diagonal 131 degrees. Dahua's DORI figures give 82m to detect and 8.2m to identify.

Can it tell people from vehicles?

Yes. Dahua lists intrusion and tripwire with classification of people and vehicles, plus SMD 4.0, stay detection and loitering detection.
