Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3841EM-S-S2 - 8MP 4K WizSense AI Eyeball Turret IP CCTV Camera

Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3841EM-S-S2

The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3841EM-S-S2 (IPC-HDW3841EM-S-S2 without the DH- prefix) is an 8MP 4K WizSense AI eyeball turret IP CCTV camera. Dahua describes it as an 8MP IR fixed-focal eyeball WizSense network camera. It uses deep learning to recognise humans and vehicles, has built-in IR LEDs for night vision up to 30m and a built-in microphone, and is rated IP67. That IP67 rating means it can be mounted outdoors. See our WizSense guide for what WizSense does.

Also listed as IPC-HDW3841EM-S-S2.

Common questions

What does WizSense do on this camera?

WizSense is Dahua's AI camera range. This model uses deep-learning perimeter protection (tripwire and intrusion) to classify humans and vehicles, and SMD 4.0 to ignore animals and other non-targets. Read the WizSense guide for more.

Does it have a built-in microphone?

Yes. Dahua's datasheet lists a built-in microphone, with G.711a, G.711Mu, PCM, G.726 and G.723 audio compression.

How far can it see at night?

The built-in IR LEDs reach up to 30m. With Starlight technology it has a minimum illumination of 0.007 lux in colour and 0 lux with the illuminator on.

Can it be powered over PoE?

Yes. It accepts 12 VDC or PoE (802.3af). Dahua quotes 4.9W basic and 8.9W maximum on PoE.

Which lens does it have?

The part number DH-IPC-HDW3841EM-S-S2 has no lens suffix, and Dahua's datasheet lists 2.8mm and 3.6mm fixed lenses. Please call us on 01902 902251 to confirm the lens before you order.

What is Quick Pick?

With an AI NVR, Quick Pick picks out the human and vehicle targets you are interested in from SMD events so you can find them quickly.

Is it an outdoor security camera?

Yes. With IP67 protection and an operating range of -40 to +60 degrees C it can be mounted outdoors.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

It is rated IP67 (dust-proof, tested after 30 minutes in 1m of water) and operates from -40 to +60 degrees C.
