Dahua DH-IPC-HDW2849TMP-S-IL-0280B-G — 8MP 4K WizSense Turret IP CCTV Camera, 2.8mm

The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW2849TMP-S-IL-0280B-G is an 8MP 4K turret IP CCTV camera with a fixed 2.8mm lens, from Dahua's WizSense 2 Series. Dahua's own name for this housing is "eyeball". Smart Dual Light pairs an IR illuminator with a warm light and three illumination modes, deep learning perimeter protection classifies people and vehicles, and a built-in microphone records sound, all in an IP67 housing powered by PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC. The IP67 housing is waterproof for outdoor use, and the IR illuminator reaches up to 30m.

Also listed as IPC-HDW2849TMP-S-IL-0280B-G.

Key features

• 8MP (4K) image: 3840 × 2160 at up to 20 fps from a 1/2.7" CMOS sensor, with 2688 × 1520 at up to 25/30 fps.
• Smart Dual Light: IR is normally on at night, and when a target appears the warm light switches on so the camera records full-colour video. IR and warm light each reach up to 30m.
• Full-colour imaging in very low light: 0.008 lux in colour at F1.6, and 0 lux with the illuminator on.
• WizSense AI perimeter protection (intrusion and tripwire) classifies people and vehicles, and SMD Plus filters out alarms from other movement.
• Smart H.265+ and Smart H.264+ compression, ROI, and recording to micro SD up to 256GB or to NAS.
• Built-in microphone, with audio detection among its alarm events.
• IP67 rated, powered by PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC, with an operating range of -40°C to +55°C.
• Infrared camera: the built-in IR LED reaches up to 30m in the dark, and the warm light adds full-colour video when a target appears.

Common questions

Is this a 4K camera?

Yes. The sensor outputs up to 3840 × 2160, which is 4K (8MP), and it also streams 2688 × 1520 at up to 25/30 fps.

What does Smart Dual Light do?

At night the IR illuminator is normally on. When a target appears in the monitoring area the warm light switches on and the camera records full-colour video and snapshots of the event; when the target leaves, the warm light goes off and IR is back on, which reduces light pollution. Our Smart Dual Light guide explains it in more detail.

What does WizSense do on this camera?

WizSense is Dahua's AI range. Here, intrusion and tripwire detection can tell people from vehicles, and SMD Plus filters out alarms from other movement. See our WizSense guide.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. It is IP67 rated: Dahua says the enclosure works normally after soaking in 1 m deep water for 30 minutes, and the camera operates from -40°C to +55°C. That makes it a waterproof camera and an outdoor camera.

Does it need a separate power supply?

No. It runs on PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC, and uses up to 5.9 W on PoE.

Will it work with a recorder that is not Dahua?

It supports ONVIF Profile S, G and T, so it can be added to compatible third-party recorders. Smart Search works together with a Dahua Smart NVR.

Which lens does this listing have?

This listing is the 2.8mm version (-0280B), with a 111° horizontal view. Dahua also lists a 3.6mm lens for this model, with an 87° view and a 98.7m detect distance.
