The DS-KD8003-IME1(B)/NS is the stainless-steel-fronted KD8 main unit without a call button — Hikvision's page lists Button: 0 — for panels where every call is made from a DS-KD-KP/S keypad, DS-KD-KK/S or DS-KD-K12/S nametag module, or a DS-KD-TDM touch display. It carries the same 2 MP 146° camera, microphone, loudspeaker, two lock relays and RS-485 module bus as the DS-KD8003-IME1(B)/S, and matches the stainless DS-KABD8003-RS2/S and RS3/S rain shields. Specifications below are from Hikvision's own /NS page, which is written to an older template than the /S page: it lists H.264 and G.711 audio only, one door-contact input and TCP/IP, RTSP — we have not carried the /S page's H.265, ONVIF or second door-contact input across.

Hikvision's KD8 modular door station is built from a main unit (camera, microphone, speaker and one call button) plus sub-modules that clip into a common frame: nametag buttons, card reader, keypad, display, indicator and induction loop. Modules connect to the main unit over RS-485 and take their 12 VDC from it, so a panel for a block of flats is specified module by module. This is part of Hikvision's IP video intercom range: door stations, indoor stations and accessories that connect over a standard network (PoE or 12 VDC) and are configured with the iVMS-4200 client or the Hik-Connect app. IP-series products are designed to be used together within that range. Camera

A 2 MP sensor with a wide 146° horizontal by 82° vertical field of view, WDR for a visitor backlit by the street and low-illumination IR supplement lighting for night; H.264 compression, streamable over RTSP. Audio is a built-in omnidirectional microphone and loudspeaker (G.711) with noise suppression and echo cancellation.

Door control and modules

Two lock relays, two exit-button inputs and one door-contact input; four alarm inputs (two exit buttons and two door contacts by default) and a tamper switch complete the local I/O. The RS-485 port is dedicated to Hikvision sub-modules, which take their 12 VDC from the main unit. Local memory holds 2000 users and 6000 cards (via a reader module).

System, power and rating

Up to 500 linked indoor stations and 16 sub door stations per system over a 10/100 Mbps RJ45. Power is PoE 802.3af or 12 VDC 500 mA, consumption ≤ 5 W. IP65, -40 °C to 60 °C, 10–95% humidity, 98 × 100 × 42 mm, surface or flush mounting. Embedded Linux with 32 MB ROM and 256 MB RAM.
