Does this NVR power my cameras?
No — it has no built-in PoE, cameras need a separate PoE switch.
Can one HDD really hold 16 cameras' footage?
Yes with a large enough drive (up to 10TB supported), though retention time will be shorter than a multi-bay recorder — see the DHI-NVR2216-16P-I2 if built-in PoE and 2 bays are wanted instead.
Do I need AI-enabled cameras for face detection?
No — it runs on the recorder itself.
