Ajax FireProtect Plus Jeweller Wireless Smoke, Heat and Carbon Monoxide Detector White (38107)

Ajax FireProtect Plus Jeweller - Wireless Smoke, Heat and Carbon Monoxide Detector

FireProtect Plus Jeweller is a battery-powered Ajax fire detector with three sensors in one unit. A photoelectric chamber picks up smoke, a thermistor reacts to dangerous heat, and a chemical sensor watches for carbon monoxide. Its own 85 dB siren sounds at the detector, and once it is paired with an Ajax hub over the two-way Jeweller radio, every fire detector on the system sounds together and the alarm goes to the Ajax app. Ajax says it can also operate on its own without a hub, warning of danger with its built-in siren. This listing is the white version.

Also listed as 38107 (white). Ajax model ID FPP.Y.J.

Key features

• Smoke, heat and carbon monoxide sensing in one detector.
• HazeFlow check: the first smoke trigger is set aside and the alarm only sounds if smoke is still detected on a second check 30 seconds later.
• Heat alarm above 60 °C, or when the temperature rises by more than 30 °C in 30 minutes or less.
• Chemical CO sensor with a 7-year service life, alarming from 30 ppm after long exposure up to 300 ppm within 3 minutes.
• Built-in siren rated at 85 dB at 3 m, with LED and sound indication.
• Interconnected alarm: all fire detectors on the system switch on their sirens if one registers an alarm.
• Touch button on the front starts a smoke chamber test and turns off the sound during an alarm or fault; the detector also tests its own smoke chamber.
• Runs on two CR2 batteries with a CR2032 backup, all fitted before it leaves the factory.

Technical specification

Works with

An Ajax hub or range extender that uses the Jeweller radio, for example Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller or Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. Other Ajax fire detectors on the same system, such as FireProtect Jeweller, share its interconnected alarm.

Common questions

Which sensors does it have?

Three: a photoelectric smoke sensor, a thermistor for heat and a chemical sensor for carbon monoxide.

What batteries does it take?

Two CR2 batteries power it and a CR2032 acts as a backup. All three come fitted and can be replaced.

How does it avoid false alarms from a puff of smoke?

Ajax uses its HazeFlow check. The detector sets the first trigger aside and only raises the alarm if it still finds smoke on a second check 30 seconds later.

How do I test it or stop it sounding?

Press the touch button on the front. In normal use it starts a smoke chamber test; during an alarm or a fault it turns off the detector sound.

Can it work without a hub?

Ajax says it can operate independently of the hub and warn of danger with its built-in siren. With a hub you also get the Ajax apps, notifications and an interconnected alarm across the system.

Where can it be fitted?

Indoors only. Ajax rates it IP40, for 0 °C to +65 °C and humidity up to 80%.
