Dahua DH-HAC-HDW1809TP-A-LED-0280B — 8MP 4K HDCVI Full-Colour Turret Eyeball CCTV Camera

The Dahua DH-HAC-HDW1809TP-A-LED-0280B is an 8MP 4K full-colour HDCVI turret CCTV camera with a 2.8mm lens, from Dahua's Lite Series. Dahua's own name for this housing is "eyeball". Warm LED lights give a colour picture even in the dark, and the camera has a built-in microphone, 120 dB true WDR and an IP67 metal housing. Its datasheet describes the Lite Series as ideal for residential areas and small and medium business solutions. Rated IP67 (dust-tight and protected against immersion), it can be mounted outdoors and works from -40 °C to +60 °C.

Common questions

Is this a 4K camera?

Yes. It is an 8MP camera with a maximum picture of 3840 × 2160 (4K). Dahua lists 15 fps at 4K over CVI, and 25 fps at 5MP.

How does the colour night picture work?

Two warm LED lights, up to 40m, light the scene so the camera keeps a colour picture even in the dark (0 lux with the illuminator on). The smart light mode adjusts exposure time and sensitivity so objects in the centre of the image are not overexposed.

Does it use infrared?

Dahua's datasheet lists warm LED lights as the illuminator and does not list infrared LEDs, so night pictures stay in colour.

How is it powered?

From 12 VDC ±30%. Dahua recommends one power adapter per camera.

Which recorder do I need?

The camera outputs CVI, TVI, AHD or CVBS. Our Penta-brid recorders explained and HDCVI cameras explained guides cover recorders and cameras.

Does it record sound?

Yes. It has a built-in microphone (this is the -A model), and HDCVI sends the audio back over the coaxial cable.
