Who is it for?

An NVR receives, stores and manages footage streamed in from networked IP cameras, giving you centralised recording, playback and remote viewing from one unit. With 128 channels and 8 hot-swappable HDD bays, the DHI-NVR608H-128 is built for large-scale sites such as retail parks, warehouses, distribution centres, multi-storey car parks or campuses where a single recorder needs to cover a large camera estate.

Key specification

What you will need

• Surveillance-grade hard drives sized to your channel count and retention period — with 8 bays available and up to 20TB supported per drive, plan capacity around resolution and days of footage required.
• This model has no built-in PoE ports, so you will need a suitably sized PoE switch to power and connect your IP cameras.
• An HDMI or VGA monitor for initial setup and local menu configuration.

Frequently asked questions

How many cameras can the DHI-NVR608H-128 support?

Up to 128 IP camera channels, with each camera supported at resolutions up to 32MP, making it suited to large-scale, multi-building or campus-style installations.

Do I need AcuPick cameras for it to work?

No — standard Dahua IP cameras work with the on-recorder AI features. AcuPick support across up to 64 channels is an added capability for sites using Dahua's AcuPick camera range for improved human and vehicle target retrieval, but it is not required for normal operation.

Is there a monthly fee for the AI or recording features?

No, the on-recorder AI features — including face detection, video metadata, SMD and perimeter protection — run locally on the NVR with no ongoing subscription.

Will it work with non-Dahua IP cameras?

Standard ONVIF-compliant third-party cameras can generally be added for straightforward recording, though full AI analytics and AcuPick features are optimised for Dahua's own camera range.
