The DHI-NVR5432-16HP-XI/Pro is part of Dahua's WizMind Pro range of AI-enabled network video recorders. It records up to 32 IP channels, powers up to 16 cameras directly over its built-in PoE ports, and runs Dahua's on-recorder AI analytics (face detection and recognition, perimeter protection, video metadata and AcuPick search) without needing AI-enabled cameras on every channel.
Who is it for?
An NVR is the heart of an IP CCTV system: it records the cameras, powers them over the network cable where it has PoE ports, and provides remote viewing through an app. This model suits sites running 16–32 cameras that want built-in AI search and analytics rather than relying on the cameras alone — retail, warehousing and multi-site commercial installs are typical.

What you will need
- Surveillance-grade hard drives for the 4 drive bays — we can fit and format before dispatch or collection.
- Cat5e or Cat6 cable to each PoE camera; cameras beyond the 16 built-in PoE ports need a separate PoE switch.
- An HDMI or VGA screen for initial setup; day to day most people use the mobile app.
Frequently asked questions
How many cameras can I connect?
Up to 32 channels in total. The first 16 can be powered directly from the NVR's built-in PoE ports; cameras beyond that need their own power or a PoE switch.
Does the AI analytics need special cameras?
No — this model runs face detection, perimeter protection and video metadata analytics on the recorder itself, so standard IP cameras can use them. Compatible AI cameras add extra channels of on-camera analytics.
Is there a monthly fee?
No — recording and analytics run locally on the recorder and the mobile app is free.
Can I use cameras from another brand?
Usually yes over ONVIF, though Dahua-specific AI features may not carry across to non-Dahua cameras.
